This is my entry to the photoshop creative competition. The use of photoshop is not huge as I pretty much only composed nine original images together. But I don’t think it needs more “effects” to tell its story. This is a deconstruction and chaotic recomposition of an urban lanscape in Alexandria, Egypt. Because I see the future dynamic, urban, fast and anarchic.
A glowing, country highway under a giant, rising moon. Another daytime road shot gone serenely night. The original photograph was taken somewhere in the Texas Hill Country, on a hot, sunny, summer morning.

My brother inlaw’s Yamaha Roadstar This was actually done in HDR, but I couldn’t stand all the blue reflecting from the sky (note the clouds in the rearview mirror) so I made it black and white (the bike is actually black, so that worked out) and did some more treatments. So to break it down, it is HDR, just edited to the point that it doesn’t have that “HDR feel” to it. Get it? Got it. Good. This piece was featured in the Cars, Bikes, and Motorsports group. Come. Travel with me down this dark lonely road / This is the road to Valhala / This road littered with 50 million corpse of young brave, / forced to fight wars waged by greedy, power-hungry, old worthless men / Let us honor these young men, / who sacrificed so much / Let us worship them, / who lived true and died brave, / as they rest their broken bodies on this dark, lonely road to Valhala. The light is where you choose to see it… The original “path” was far from luminous with hope. It was scary and creepy. I chose to see my path in a different way, and now I can look towards light and joy. Finished in 3rd position of Top Ten in the Landscapes from the Inverted World challenge of the Inverted World Group on July 11, 2009

Subliminal though it may be, Desirée / Glanville speaks through her fantastic / fractal renderings and choice of music. / The Wiz – Ease on down the road, a / combination of fractals created with / Apophysis, is an example of her / music-inspired work. / A late seventies movie follow-up to a smash Broadway hit,The Wiz, / with its updated, urban Wizard of Oz theme, features characters / rising above their background and others’ expectations of them. / “Ease on Down the Road”, Desirée’s subtitle, is their road-trip theme song; sung by the late Michael / Jackson and Diana Ross, playing the scarecrow and Dorothy, respectively. The two joyfully make their / way down the yellow brick road, laughing, stumbling, and dancing, off to see “the Wiz” (the late Richard / Pryor). / Desirée strews our path with pink and yellow flowers and fantasy crystals, through which we see more / worlds. The landscape is draped in a muli-colored veil of dreams. Butterflies hover above, harbingers of / new life. / Dorothy, ultimately tells the Wiz, when he turns to her for help. ”…you’ll never find [what you’re looking / for] in the safety of this room. I tried that all my life. It doesn’t work. There’s a whole world out there. And / you’ll have to begin by letting people see who you really are.” / Is this Desirée’s message? As artists, getting out of that safe zone and letting others know who we really / are is probably where we begin to “ease on down the road”; the ultimate road trip to the pinnacle, where / the art of joy and the joy of art meet. Featured in Digital Art Compilations Group ©Angi Baker / Inspired by SEE & LISTEN TO VIDEO Collaboration with Myself & George Lenz 4 Layers / How it was done… / Using photoshop, I took the first layer and inverted it making it have the blue look, then I layered the 2nd image (SP)on and erased some of it and used the opacity to blend, I then used the paintbrush with white and made the brush small to make the snow effect, I then layered the 3rd layer and erased it all except for the cross, the 4th layer was the moon with my dear friend George give to me to use with some of my images, bringing the moon to screen on settings… I watched the video of Ozzy Osbournes Dreamer and got the inspiration from this video to do this image…

Digital Collage From the first winter that I had my drivers license I have always been warned by my mother and other loved ones to “watch out for black ice”. This illustrates, maybe not the worst case scenario, but at least one, two, or three reasons why you should tell the ones you love about the dangers of “Black Ice”. /
There is a heaven for animals! Inspired by this poem: Fragile Circle “We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own, live within a fragile circle, easily and often breached. / Unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would live no other way. / We cherish memory as the only certain immortality, / never fully understanding the necessary plan.” Irving Townsend
