  • Colorful digital painting by Alejandro Silveira. / Legends series. / Big version.

  • I’ve been posting some of my more serious work just lately in the form of the Neverland Collection and its been a hectic journey with all sorts of responses….mostly good but also some that have been really testing and unpleasant….. so I thought I post a few lighter things just to break up the feel of my work somewhat. This digital image goes right back to when I first started to learn how to use Photoshop in 2004 and was one of the very first manipulated images I produced. Actually there is a series of them which I made into an animated gif that was really quite charming in a naive and pretty sort of way and this is a still from that work. / The background was shot at a friends place early one frosty morning and the girl is a stock image….

  • Amaltheas Enchanted Home This is a collaboration for the Contest / in the Live, Love, Dream group, themed ‘Inspiration’ / Has been the perfect opportunity for me to collaborate with my Aunty, Kristina, who has a folio full of gorgeous photographs, but there was one in particular that I fell in love with upon first seeing it….The Fern and the Forest As soon as I layed my overactive imagination driven eyes on her photo, I was instantly inspired, / I saw a magickal place, sparkling and shimmering and full of mystery and beauty and I knew I wanted to complete my ‘vision’ with this beautiful photo…. Unicorns have always been inspirational to me, / As a young child, my favourite movie was The Last Unicorn / I fell in love with the story and the magical beauty that was Amalthea, the tragic unicorn on her quest to free her kind, burdened by unfamiliar mortality, love, and regret that comes from her enchanted human guise. / It was the beginning of my life long love affair with all things magickal, has been the doorway to a world of unending inspiration, and opened my eyes to the beauty of imagination. Below is the photo taken by Kristina that inspired my vision, that without, my vision would never have been realised… / Fern and the Forest / This one (below) is Kristina’s photograph of ‘Blue’, Kristinas neighbours pony, who she had grown attached to over the years… / Unfortunately Blue passed away recently. / I thought I would honour him by turning him into not only a magical unicorn, but also an elegant pegasus. / Goodbye Blue / / This is the other photo I have used of Blue, taken by Kristina… / Kristina is a wonderful lady with a heart of gold and a soul that sparkles like sunlight. / Its awesome that she happens to be my aunty aswell. / She married my mum’s little bro before I was born, and Kristina has since been a very big part of the ‘life’ of the family. / Kristina, We love you sweety, thankyou for always being there for me! / I hope you like my vision! Also available on a Tshirt- / thankyou for taking the time to view my art and (hopefully) comment… / please have a look at my other artwork… / hope you enjoy! :) /

  • This is my most recent historical-fantasy work. The “Prophecy” title pertains to the reference of a shift in global thinking whereby humankind will soon evolve to a new and elevated state of universal awareness. Within our lifetime we will witness the emergence of Compassion over Greed, in how the citizens of the World conduct business and their personal relationships. Intelligence will blossom with the embracing of psychic enlightenment and a significant progress will be made, in our understanding of additional dimensions that exist within our Natural World. Wild animals will be treated with reverence and all beings will live in a harmonious respect for each other. I look forward to this new Age of awakening… do you? A new World Vision we all can share in… which reminds me to tell you that all sales of this item benefit the great organization “World Vision”. Thank you for helping me to help them. ~ Skye

  • Last year in December, I photographed many outdoors Christmas decorations, but not in my hometown. I had plenty of snowy winter shots, but no jolly sparkles from Candiac. I was very disappointed with myself because I knew that I wanted to make a new calendar of my town; I want to create a new one every year. However, I forgot to include my December image in my shooting plans! So for the 2010 Candiac calendar , there was no other solution than to create a new image with the atmosphere of a Christmas night. I started with Forsaken (white winter scene below), a stark depiction of a cold winter afternoon in the park overlooking the river, as shown below. I spent a few interesting hours playing and experimenting with several layers of blue filters, levels, and curves adjustments. I then pasted some clouds from a texture shot that I made recently, and created a starry sky in the gaps between the clouds with a layer of grain, plus round brushes in various sizes and starburst brushes.
