A worked rubbing from a lino cut. Digitally coloured and manipulated. (2000). Unfortunately since the release of the Matrix movies the vertical visual text I used to use is no longer showing up much in my work.
This was taken at a shopping center in my hometown. I brighted the colors in the photoshop. Copyright :: All Rights Reserved / Registered :: Fri Jan 16 05:59:46 UTC 2009 Title :: Sunrise

I admire Mark German’s Love is a Tulip and his use of lighting. Since we have tulips and I need to practice working with the lighting equipment, I thought I’d experiment. I still like his better, but I think he’s a pro and I’m not. Pssst: reminder to myself. The point of all of this is to see in new ways. I am grateful that I have this opportunity to learn to see. Repeat at least 20 times. I stood in the snow behind the tripod, so quietly that one bird landed on my lens! What joy. I couldn’t actually say we bonded, but I was thrilled. I’ve had birds land on my hat, but never one that I could see so closely. Featured in Alaska ~ Beyond Your Dreams – Thank you! Shot in RAW. Slight curves adjustment, at the suggestion of Eivor. The snowfall made it necessary to bump up the ISO to 320. I tried ISO 640 at one point, but those looked a tad grainy. This is a male Common Redpoll in today’s snowfall. Note snowflake on his back. Our area has so far eluded Mt. Redoubt’s harsh volcanic particles, although Alaska Airlines and FedEx had to suspend all flights in and out yesterday. The sunlight through the petals and leaves looked lovely against the backdrop of the snow outside. Our short days make sunshine seem all the more precious, even indoors. Winner of Tulips in Vases challenge (I know – how many people have those photos or flowers hanging around, ready to pop into a challenge, eh?) Actually, I’m truly appreciative. And nice of someone to post it on the homepage, too. Pacific Northwest Art featured May 30, 2009 – Thank you! # Featured in Alaska ~ Beyond Your Dreams – Thank you! I love rainy, overcast, windy days. Someone has to, I suppose. The pink/purple of the fireweed has yet to reach its full splendor.
