Pumpkin and Crystal saying hello. Thought it was a sweet moment. Usually they are moody and fussing with each other. :) A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this print will go to White Bird Appaloosa Horse Rescue. www.whitebirdapps.org. Let me know if you have any issues with the link! Thanks, Mechelle
This reminds me of those old horror movies where a haunted carnival comes alive at night.

In the novel, while on their way to the Emerald City, Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion walk through a field of poppies, and both Dorothy and the Lion mysteriously fall asleep, as if from the opium of poppies. The Scarecrow and the Tin Man, not being made of flesh and blood, are unaffected. They carry Dorothy to safety and place her on the ground beyond the poppy field. While they are considering how to help the Lion, a field mouse runs in front of them, fleeing a cougar. The Tin Man beheads the cougar with his axe, and the field mouse pledges her eternal gratitude. Being the Queen of the Field Mice, she gathers all her subjects together. The Tin Man cuts down several trees, and builds a wagon. The Lion is pushed onto it, and the mice pull the wagon safely out of the poppy field.

Inspiration is sometimes hard to find so when I met John through another friend here at RB little did I know the muse was ready to kick my tail feathers and get me creating again! (grin) ... I took a look at John’s website and WOW .. do take a look .. definitely worth your time (smile) ... well anyone who’s been watching my work probably knows by now that I have a passion for patterns in math and art for a long time (in fact since I was a kid (grin)) ... so when I say John’s work inspired me I did not mean I wanted to copy how he does his work .. oh no … when I saw his work besides the intrinsic beauty of his images I could see patterns forming in my mind’s eye …. John graciously allowed me to use his website image (up front and center on his home page) Megalong Valley Campfires, Triptych to torture and mutate into this image …ok ok it was after doing it and showing it to him that he saw no problem with claiming it as my own since it bore no resemblance to his work .. (grin) .. I had offered to add info about his work/site etc. since he was my inspiration and the original was his (smile) ... so here it is …. I may at a future time add a mini-story for this image … just uninspired tonight since I only had four hours sleep last night .. yup playing away and lost track of time (grin) .. if I do perhaps I’ll also put it in a journal entry so all interested will know I did (big smile) Featured Art – June 2009 – RedBubble Group – Art in Math Extensive work done in Gimp and PaintShopPro. Ben Hur Spectacular Live Show / Captured at the O2 Arena {Millennium Dome} London UK. Camera Nikon D700 with 24-120mm Nikor Lense. It was a wonderful privillege to be taken to the O2 Arena to view Ben Hur by my son and his friend. I also took along my friend Wole Bolade. After reading the terrible reviews of the show, I was wondering if we’d enjoy it. I love the old film with Charlton Heston which was made 50 years ago now. I’m 50 this year:-). Well, I can tell you I was blown away with the production. Some things could have been done better, but the overall impression I got, as did my companions, was that it’s a quality production. With an obvious amount of creative genius and skill. Ben Hur Live Really was a spectacular show the likes of which will not be seen very often. / As you’d probably expect the plotline of the Ben Hur the Show is very similar to the 1959 film of the story about the life of Judah Ben-Hur, a young Jewish Nobleman living in the time of the Roman Empire’s occupation of Judah, also the time of Jesus of Nazareth. Ben Hur is a tale of loyalty, revenge, forgiveness and love. If you get the chance to go and see it again it will be at the O2 in January 2010. I’d highly recommend it. This is my Aunts horse Renner a close-up of his eye. He is an Arab/Thoroughbred cross.
The first impressionists took advantage of the introduction of premixed paints in tubes where paint is laid on an area of the surface very thickly, usually thickly enough that the brush or painting-knife strokes are visible. / Characteristics of impressionist paintings include visible brush strokes, open composition, emphasis on light in its changing qualities effecting colour, the inclusion of movement as a crucial element of human perception, and unusual visual angles. / Short, thick strokes of paint are used to quickly capture the essence of the subject, rather than its details. The paint is often applied impasto. / Colours are applied side-by-side with as little mixing as possible, creating a vibrant surface. The optical mixing of colours occurs in the eye of the viewer. / My form of impressionism starts with digital photography and I then develop this into my own art form and exploit the aspects of the digital painting medium embracing and showing the painterly aspect, rather than trying to hide the act of creation. My work is hand painted digital painting and is an emerging art form in which traditional painting techniques such as watercolor, oils, etc. are applied using digital tools by means of a computer, a digitizing tablet and stylus, and software. Digital painting differs from other forms of digital art, particularly computer-generated art, in that it does not involve the computer rendering from a model. The artist uses painting techniques to create the digital painting directly on the computer. / I create the painting, directly on my PC, by using a Wacom tablet, a stylus pen and ArtRage painting software. The Wacom tablet can be compared to a canvas or watercolor paper surface. The stylus pen is my paintbrush.
