The storms were fierce with a ton of rain last night. I decided to take of work and spend the day at the falls near my house. I must have snapped 200 pictures today. What a great day!! I found a new toy its my infrared lens. Ever get the feeling that everyone’s staring at you when you get on that bus to work every morning? Well, I did (before I shed the shackles of the day job and became a freelancer at least!) and that’s what inspired this painting – commuters on the top deck, always curious to see who’s entering their domain.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow….. / In this work I started with the vision of a Grass Widow, patiently waiting for her husband to return but somewhere along the line, it came to represent those of us who take a backseat to life. Fear keeps us rooted in our comfort zones even though we are tired and bored in our surroundings. / / We’re afraid if we chase the rainbow the sky will crumble, open up and bad things happen ….so we sit back and watch life play out like a movie on a big screen..
