In the Native American Sioux language Hanyewi means Moon Translated by Chief Yellow Lark – 1887 Oh, Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the winds / Whose breath gives life to the world, hear me / I come to you as one of your many children / I am small and weak / I need your strength and wisdom May I walk in beauty / Make my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset. / Make my hands respect the things you have made / And my ears sharp to your voice. / Make me wise so that I may know the things you have taught your children. The lessons you have written in every leaf and rock / Make me strong! / Not to be superior to my brothers, but to fight my greatest enemy….myself Make me ever ready to come to you with straight eyes, / So that when life fades as the fading sunset, / May my spirit come to you without shame. This is my entry for the Photoshop Creative competition / Digital Mixed Media. Mostly done in Photoshop CS2. A touch of Corel Painter and Apophysis 2.0. This image is composed of digital painting, a few fractals, and several photographs added for texture. I hope you all like it because I’ve been working on it for most of this week :). / This is the first I’ve completed in a new series: The Elijah Series. This image represents the chariot of fire. You can read about it here: 2 Kings 2:7-12. There is so much going on in this image so I’ll help you out: The Chariot driven by some sort of Angelic being is in the center of the image while the horses of fire are at the bottom, very front of the image. The blazing light of Heaven is in the very back. Basically, the sky has opened up and the Chariot of Fire is coming down from Heaven to separate Elisha and Elijah. The whirlwind that takes Elijah up into Heaven will be the next image I do in this series. Thank you for looking!

/ / It would be such a pity to leave without a comment. Like it? Say so. Don’t like it? Say so too! With a bang, if that fits your style. I’d rather leave a negative impression (on someone) than nothing at all. DullNBoring is NOT my middle name. Neither my last (I knew you’d probably say that!) As for the first name, it’s on the front page. So, please go ahead, leave a note and make my day! Thank you from the heart my friend. / / . / Please view also my other work.. / / Thank you for visiting.

A recent digital work on CS2. I love Rat Rod culture. This image was inspired by WWII aircraft and some work I’ve seen recently that develops USAF themes on Hot Rods.

‘The subconcious always strives to create an impossible situation to force the individual to give the best he or she has got. Otherwise you would be satisfied with less, you wouldn’t be complete, you wouldn’t realize yourself. You need an impossible situation, in which you have to hand over your own will and your own intellectual capacity and have no choise but trust in the impersonal force of growth and development.’ C.G. Infinite future chaos – “whats that?” i here you say, / its the way we shape our future by how we live today, / the way we live our lives has a knock on effect, / we should give this world of ours some love and respect. Freak weather, wars, global warming, hurricanes and nature dying, / destruction, rainforests dissapearing, children starving, children crying, / riots, warfare, guns, chemical waste, nuclear bombs and anarchy, / extinction of animals, genetics, clones, who is it down to, powers that be?. Just think of our children, how will they survive, what will they see?, / lets all make changes so they can be happy and free, / who knows what the future holds but its down to me and you, / im just thankful i wont be around and bet that you are too.

Forest fires are one of the deadliest natural disasters facing mankind. California has recently been inundated with raging forest fires that have claimed hundreds of thousands of acres of land and numerous lives. On June 20, 2008, a severe thunderstorm system moved through northern and central California resulting in over 6,000 total lightning strikes in more than 26 counties. The overwhelming number of lightning strikes, along with record dry conditions sparked over two thousand lightning fires. A combination of aggressive firefighting efforts from CAL FIRE and the USFS, including over 25,000 firefighting personnel from across the state, nation and world, strategically tackled the suppression of these incidents. To date, 2,096 fires have burned nearly 1.2 million acres. The majority of these fires have been contained, yet conditions remain extremely dry and fire danger remains very high. As one of the most severe wildland fire situations ever experienced in California’s history, these fires destroyed a total of 511 structures and have taken 15 lives. For more information click here Much of my family lives in the areas that have been stricken recently with these fires. They are an awsome force to contend with. A wildfire, also known as a wildland fire, forest fire, brush fire, vegetation fire, grass fire, peat fire, bushfire (in Australasia), or hill fire, is an uncontrolled fire often occurring in wildland areas, but which can also consume houses or agricultural resources. Common causes include lightning, human carelessness, slash-and-burn farming, arson, volcano eruption, pyroclastic cloud from active volcano, and underground coal fire. Heat waves, droughts, and cyclical climate changes such as El Niño can also dramatically increase the risk of wildfires. The word “wildfire” was once a synonym for Greek fire as well as a word for any furious or destructive conflagration. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the earliest known usages are specifically for lightning-caused conflagrations. The modern usage may have arisen in part from people misunderstanding the expression “spread like wildfire”. Just Past Summer It was a time you let go / And caught the wind / Absent a rudder to slice your way through / Just Past Summer, / You let go of wondering how to Love, / You did. / Colors / Blended into one voice / Truth / Beating swiftly / Like cream does to butter. / Just Past Summer, / A fire as big as a sunset / Was started, / Using all the dried up dreams / And the gutter remains. / Rich you said, / Smell the smoke, / Sacred release. / The ashes you spread out like a table / Serving doubt and loneliness / Featuring a cold vichyssoise that had / A hint of Hope. / This hint you said, / Will complement the rest, / Fear not. / Dessert was three layers of / Rich longing, / Covered with a double dark / Butter cream of Love. / Always Love / You said… / Then off you went, / To catch the boat with no rudder, / On a warm Chinook breeze / That took you to Just Past Summer.
