Captured digitally using a Sony Alpha 100 at the Southern Cross Station in Melbourne.. This image was the winner of the “best alternative medium” at the ” Artbeat 2006 – Hung Art Competition and Exhibition ” August 2006. Also the winner of “Peoples Choice Award” at The Digital/Hardcopy exhibition at The Gasworks Gallery in Albert Park October 2006. / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- / This image will be on display and for sale at the Strathcona Art show 7th – 9th September 2007 at Tay Creggan in Hawthorn. / The image will be presented framed, matted & signed. Recently Featured in / / A Place Called Home Though I come from Scotland, I’m most at home on the riverbank. I just love places like this in Devon UK, where you can walk peacefully along, listening to the birds and the rippling of the water, the magical light as it streams through the leaves and lights just a small portion of your pathway. Amazing sounds and smells too, especially after rain on a warm day. So earthy…. Yes, I feel at home along the riverbank:-) Sold A Card on Wed 22nd of April 2009. After an operation to remove skin cancer from my forehead. Ouch! that was really painful, but the sale brought a smile to my face, and that hurt again:-) LOL. I love the way the light shines on the pathway by the riverside and in the distant trees. It reminded me of how God directs us through life, He chooses not to illuminate the whole of our lives, but to direct us little by little bit by bit, so that our trust in in Him alone. The verse of Scripture that sprang to mind was, “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path”. You can trust God’s Word to guide you through life. Hope you enjoy; A Light unto my path.

The first impressionists took advantage of the introduction of premixed paints in tubes where paint is laid on an area of the surface very thickly, usually thickly enough that the brush or painting-knife strokes are visible. / Characteristics of impressionist paintings include visible brush strokes, open composition, emphasis on light in its changing qualities effecting colour, the inclusion of movement as a crucial element of human perception, and unusual visual angles. / Short, thick strokes of paint are used to quickly capture the essence of the subject, rather than its details. The paint is often applied impasto. / Colours are applied side-by-side with as little mixing as possible, creating a vibrant surface. The optical mixing of colours occurs in the eye of the viewer. / My form of impressionism starts with digital photography and I then develop this into my own art form and exploit the aspects of the digital painting medium embracing and showing the painterly aspect, rather than trying to hide the act of creation. My work is hand painted digital painting and is an emerging art form in which traditional painting techniques such as watercolor, oils, etc. are applied using digital tools by means of a computer, a digitizing tablet and stylus, and software. Digital painting differs from other forms of digital art, particularly computer-generated art, in that it does not involve the computer rendering from a model. The artist uses painting techniques to create the digital painting directly on the computer. / I create the painting, directly on my PC, by using a Wacom tablet, a stylus pen and ArtRage painting software. The Wacom tablet can be compared to a canvas or watercolor paper surface. The stylus pen is my paintbrush.

Choice II is for those who love the light side of the spectrum. It takes on such a different feeling than the much darker original, The Choice / Love should never be a choice. While man attempts to recreate his universe through science, emulating God; at the core, each of us struggles with daily choices that eclipse logic. Are choices of the heart logical or divinely inspired, impetuous or practical, or do these rather define constraints of the mind? Should the heart always win over thought process, or does one inform the other? By our divine nature, women have a choice, to follow our heart, head, will, or spirit. Wrong or right, we exercise it. This was inspired by the beautiful poem ‘By The Sea’ written by my wonderful friend Restlessd It immediately conjured up the music of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata On 25/11/2009 this image has had 881 views, / 189 comments and 66 favouritings Featured in / Art For The World / Digital Art Compilations / Jen and Erics Eyes* / MCN :: CBG75-QXBCY-WMQNY By The Sea The moon reflects its luminance / As I stand above the flowing waves. / The tide moves evenly in and out / White foam crashes into the caves. Sea oats whisper in the wind / A gull breaks the night with its cries. / I stand alone taking all this in / And a smile comes into my eyes. Darkness, darkness all around, / The sand so cool to my feet. / The music of the ocean near, / Yet, silence set in so deep. A motionless sky beacons to me / While streaming white stars say no. / So I will stay where I be, I’ll not disturb thee / For I really don’t want to go. Melting clouds drift all about / Just like ghosts beyond the sky. / Now and then there comes a call / As a sea bird soars on by. Away beyond the shoreline tide / A few lone ships fade and hide. / There they await the dawn / Knowing then their work is done. Ebbing, peaceful rhythms ever so near; / Quiet solitude engulfs me, / I am calm and I am happy here, / Walking in the night by the sea. _____ Several backgrounds were blended together in Photoshop CS4, and textures added. The beautiful girl was blended over several layers, some of them being blurred to give movement to her dress. The clouds and moonbeams were painted.
