Norway, the most beautiful country in the world – or so I personally think. Endlessly inspiring, every view mesmerising, I love it. I have tried to emphasise the ever-present tranquility by focusing on this pile of stones, quite a common site in western norway incidentaly. / I hope you like it!
Experiment with metallic blue paper and using my flash…
You know the grips in a water bottle… well that’s what this is. I took the aquafina label off, and put some colorful wrapping paper behind it. There was a few bubbles in the water, which looked cool with the texture of the bottle. It looks like a droplet continuously dropping into a puddle to me…haha. Enjoy! I used my 105mm macro lens for this.

Today Jo emailed me a link to the following image, proving once again that you can find ideas and inspiration anywhere. It would appear that Google Earth has triggered a trend for both large and small scale works best seen from a bird’s eye view. This change in perspective has resulted some pretty amazing art and some even crazier ideas. See the full sized image here. One artist has been subverting Google Earth by replicating a dead pixel with a 32×32 inch square of dirt all in the name of performance art. The theory is that if you view Google Earth from 1km distance you’ll see what appears to be a deal pixel on your screen. Geek! Others are taking part in a real life game of Where’s Wally (or Waldo in this case). Dutch artist Henk Hofstra has created street art on a massive scale with an art project called Art Eggcident So while we spend a good part of our days with feet firmly on the ground, staring up at buildings, trees and everything else that towers over us, maybe it’s worth seeking out a different perspective and seeing what inspiration you can find. Clearly the rocket pack technology that was promised in 1984 would greatly assist with this but until then we’ll have to settle for balconies, tree climbing and high rise apartments. Here are some works from bubblers who are already one step ahead of us: / Chlorine Summer 2 by victor / The Carnival is Over by a-m. / from above by Lara Luz / I think I’m flying inside by onetonshadow / my downward spiral by blackoutangel Have you spotted any works that experiment with different perspectives? - Nat
Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20 lens at 10mm, F11, shutter speed 1/80, ISO100, tweaked in Photoshop The site on which the Castle sits has been inhabited since Pictish times (5000 BC to 700 AD) although an exact date is not known. The importance of the site to the Picts stems from their religion, believed to be akin to Druidism, and which worshiped masculinity, femininity and nature spirits. The site of the Castle and the surrounding area has a strong feminine nature and symbology, which at Dunnottar takes the form of the “green lady”. The spirit of the green lady has been seen in the brewery at the Castle. She is said to be looking for her “lost children” who are the Picts who converted from her religion to Christianity around the 5th Century AD. The name Dunnottar stems from the Pictish word “Dun” which means hill fort or place of strength. Please view large
Detective Nit (Blue Man) and his partner Meps (Mechanical Employee of Police Squad) have tracked down the evil assassin robot Pique and her assistant, one of the ambiguous Grey Men, and foiled their bomb plot, thanks in part to Meps alert identification of Pique from an earlier encounter . In moments they will be in custody, but at the cost of Detective Nit’s ride… well, he always hated that car. / (No robots were injured in the making of this film)
A familiar image. I tried playing with SC :) Panasonic DMC-FZ5 Winner of the Show Me the Green challenge in the Selective Colouring group :)) / Sincere thanks to everyone who voted!
