This is 1 of the Victorian Railway’s first turbine diesel loco’s.
This is a NSW Class 45 diesel electric locomotive. It was built in 1962 by A.E. Goodwin Pty Ltd. This particular engine was the first Class 45 engine built and placed into service. It apparently underwent a full restoration recently. I caught up with it while it was leading a track maintenance train on Sydney’s northern suburbs.
Two 1960s diesel electric locomotives. This is a panorama made from three 10 megapixel images, so it will print to large sizes with lots of detail. To give you an idea of the level of detail and image quality, see the 100% crop below: /

“People Get Ready” / People get ready, there’s a train comin’ / You don’t need no baggage, you just get on board / All you need is faith to hear the diesels hummin’ / You don’t need no ticket you just thank the lord People get ready, there’s a train to Jordan / Picking up passengers coast to coast / Faith is the key, open the doors and board them / There’s hope for all among those loved the most / There ain’t no room for the hopeless sinner whom would hurt all mankind / Just to save his own / Have pity on those whose chances grow thinner / For there is no hiding place against the kingdoms throne People get ready there’s a train comin’ / You don’t need no baggage, just get on board / All you need is faith to hear the diesels hummin’ / You don’t need no ticket, just thank the lord / Lyrics by Curtis Mayfield.

Diesel is at his happiest in the snow. We have had another dumping of snow today and he was out to enjoy what he can and do his snow angels. Challenge Winner for “You’re Accepted” groups “Your Pet Portrait Challenge”
The British Rail Class 55 is a class of diesel locomotive built between 1961 and 1962 by English Electric. They were designed for the high-speed express passenger services on the East Coast Main Line between London King’s Cross and Edinburgh. They gained the name “Deltic” from the prototype locomotive, DP1 Deltic, which in turn was named for its Napier Deltic power units. 22 locomotives were built, and they dominated services on the line until their withdrawal at the end of 1981. Six locomotives were preserved and are still running today. Nikon D80 Sigma 10-20mm lens HDR

another reworking … truck from Santorini, farm from outback Queensland
I shot this at the local historical museum in the hope to finish a series. . . / The Old Bulldog sits rested in it’s ways and is started once and a while to rekindle its hope of its former glory. Enjoy. . .
I am pretty excited about presenting this #5 in the Rugged Rig Series. I have put a lot of work into this first set and it has certainly been worth every bit of effort. I have one more accompaniment piece to do for one of the rigs and this set will be complete. Look for the next set of 5 to come. This is one of the Twin Kens. It is the one on the left if you are wondering. I will not be doing an accompaniment to this (at least I don’t think I will :-)), because I did the special piece this guy. I think the Twin image will suffice for that. Just a note to anyone who may be interested in absolutely usless trivia. The prodominent colors for semi-trucks in the Salt Lake City, Utah area seems to be… yep you guessed it… red and white.

BEHIND THE SCENES: This took a while to make but came out better than I had anticipated. originally she was going to have white hair, but red suited better. QUICK TIP: The hair was created by using multiple custom shapes of paint by NEXTEXILE and then skewed and reshaped to fit. Add Diesel Laws: /
