The Parable of the Good Samaritan On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?” He answered: ” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.” But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’ / “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?” The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” / Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.” . / .. / ... EVEN at the end of the story the expert in the law STILL DID NOT want to admit that A Samaritan (an outcast race/creed/people) HELPED the Robbed Man. ... / .. / . “May the grace of God which passed all understanding keep your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. AMEN.”

“The Last Guardian” is about the epic battle between good and evil, light and dark, and life and death. The guardian dragon stands fast, holding on to the last of all that is good in the world, protecting the light. He and all that stands before him is in high color, representing life, and hope. Everything not protected by the comforting embrace of his warm breath and loving wing has been corrupted by the invading influence of the dark castle, drained of life and color.

Broadstone mill is an old typical Northern English former factory that has been reconverted for businesses, and in this instance, to foster arts and crafts withy artists having their own studio. As tends to happen with very good friends, I was having a very deep, very connected discussion with my very best friend tonight. She is what I call my sister by choice, we are not related by genetics but we are so VERY related. And it truly feeds our souls. We manage to carve out time to spend an evening together here and there and really talk about life, love, the connections, the challenges, the karma of it all. This is what she said tonight: In the realm of love and light / there is no dichotomy.

I tend to have episodes where I write a lot and remain fixated on particular themes. In 2006 a big one for me was control. It was a time of desire and longing, change and chaos for me, but like most difficult things – a period of growth. Poem first written 15/2/06 and revised 3/8/06
