A solitary branch gathers dew
I spent the summer of 2006 on a beautiful hilltop in southern France, surrounded by lush views and plenty of nature. My abstract paintings have been heavily influenced by my panoramic surroundings as well as my up-close observations of plants and insect life. I have termed my new series of nature-based abstracts my Anicca series. Anicca is a Pali term meaning impermanence. Like the Impressionists, I am deeply influenced by the changes in the scenery around me caused by the changing position of the sun and atmospheric changes such as wind, rain, and fog. These paintings depict the ever-changing quality of nature; its unpredictability, raw form, and constant flow. This painting depicts thick foliage and lifeforms amongst tree branches and expresses the concepts of multiplicity, abundance, and change. See more of my artwork at my website, www.thaneeya.com.

rosillusion [rohz-i-loo-jhun] An imaginary word used to describe living in a dream world where roses are the “security blanket” of choice – where the illusions created by the psyche to cope with life are graced by the delicateness and the romance of roses This is the 6th in The Rose Dimension Collection We all have our own illusions… / They need us to exist, / Just as we need them for the same. A multitude of layers and many various filters…I lost track, really. All my own images (including, obviously, the mirrored self-portrait) and my own textures put together in Photoshop.
