Bench in the early morning fog taken just outside a senior’s residence in Deux-Montagnes, Quebec on Friday October 24/08. This bench faces the Lake of Two Mountains and under normal circumstances would afford a great view of the lake. / I am really honoured that Alyssa (adgray) upon viewing this image wrote a lovely poem that is a perfect match to the emotion I wanted to convey with this work. / Here it is: WAITING OUT TIME / “There’s always someone sitting here / every day for the last sixty years / They shuffle up and rest their bones / and wait a while before going home They take their turn to enjoy their repose / sometimes sharing sometimes alone / They might overlap with the newer ones / vacating their place as their time comes Who were these dwellers of this bench / why is it’s usage so entrenched / They come to wait ‘til their time is done / ironic though as time waits for no one” / adgray Featured in the Benches group December 2008 / Featured in the Live, Love, Dream group October 2008
Shore of an island in the fog, taken Friday October 24th, 2008 in the early morning, Lake of Two Mountains, Deux-Montagnes, Quebec CANADA / Despite the mist the color of the trees is still visible. “Like a man travelling in foggy weather, those at some distance before him on the road he sees wrapped up in the fog, as well as those behind him, and also the people in the fields on each side, but near him all appears clear, though in truth he is as much in the fog as any of them.” ~ Benjamin Franklin Top Ten placement in the Autumn in your Communities challenge, Communities group November 2009 / Featured in the group Communities November 2009

“Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves.” / ~Henry David Thoreau / A glimpse of solitude and peace in a small corner of my world… it is lost in nature that I find myself… / My neighbohood in Deux-Montagnes, Quebec CANADA / Nikon D40, 18-55mm lens, early morning fog Featured in Your Magic Place February 2009 / Featured in the Forests group January 2009 / Featured in the Prize Challenges group November 2008
conceptual explorative urban spaces series….dualities of this urban space.
A bench usually beckons one to sit, but I found this bench a frosty reception when I ventured out early the other morning to see what had changed just after our fist snowstorm. The trees sparkled with ice as if elves had come to trim them overnight. The sun shone brightly on the water and revealed a fine mist that covered the lake. The tranquility and solitude of this fine cold morning enveloped me like a soft blanket. Deux-Montagnes, Quebec CANADA / Nikon D40, Nikkor 18-55mm lens / December 2008
In ballet, a pas de deux (French, step/dance for two) is a duet in which ballet steps are performed together. It usually consists of an entrée, adagio, two variations (one for each dancer), and a coda. / for more info please follow this link

same tree, different treatment / / canon 40D I missed the golden light by just a few seconds… I got a few other trees with the sunset light, but they had nothing like the character of this spectacular tree – on the way to my home. I had to stop in the middle of the road with my hazard lights, nothing to stop on the side, and right after a bend… Not very smart, but worth it I think ;-)

having a relationship with someone with mental illness can be very taxing. This is just a vent on being the one trying to interact with the one suffering from depression and/or bi-polar disorder. / It is so hard trying to balance the want to be with someone who is not there much of them time…wanting to love them, wanting them there...and the plain, hard fact that they cannot be alot of the time due to their illness – medication or not.
