  • I photographed this majestic blue heron in Point Lobos State Reserve in CA. It is fascinating to watch this bird standing on a floating log, for hours, waiting for the right moment to catch a passing fish. —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- I will donate 50% of all proceeds from the sale of this image and the ones below to the American Bird Conservancy Consider these images as companions! / And the T-Shirt below

  • Arrested Expansion is a symbolic scene that depicts a combination of self-excluding objects that might not be present in real life. Objects in the secluded room make the viewer feel claustrophobic and unreal, which might be compared to someone’s mental delusion based on a medical condition. Image is a mixture of photo stock with some 2D vectors, and 3D objects. Photoshop, 3ds max, Illustrator. / The most common cause of cardiac arrest is a heart rhythm disorder or arrhythmia called ventricular fibrillation (VF). The heart has a built-in electrical system. When a contraction happens, blood is pumped. But in ventricular fibrillation, the electrical signals that control the pumping of the heart suddenly become rapid and chaotic. As a result, the lower chambers of the heart, the ventricles, begin to quiver (fibrillate) instead of contract, and they can no longer pump blood from the heart to the rest of the body. If blood cannot flow to the brain, it becomes starved of oxygen, and the person loses consciousness in seconds. • I saw the fire burning over the water .. smoke blued by the night flowing outward … My first ever work in Ultrafractal and the newest version 5.01 with post work (texture, sizing, brightness, contrast) in Gimp. Wish you could see the texture in this image (big smile) It’s best viewed large (grin) I’m completely impressed with the speed of rendering so far in UF5! I rendered this fractal at 10,000px squared with 300 resolution and it only took ten minutes on my 3.2mhz computer (2 gigs of ram) ... wow! Oh I suppose more complex images will take a lot longer .. don’t know yet since I’ve only rendered this one (big grin) .. however I had to resize it down to 5000px and compress it a little so that I could upload it here (smile) ... I’m very pleased with UF5 .. I’ve only scratched the surface for now but I see almost unlimited possibilities with my new toy (big smile) hope you enjoy it (big smile) Featured Art – March 2009 – RedBubble Group: Art in Math Featured Art – June 2009 – RedBubble Group: A Fractal Energy Passion Featured Member – Featured Art – June 2009 – RedBubble Group: A Fractal Energy Passion Featured Art – November 2009 – RedBubble Group: The Ultimate UF5 and Beyond UF09-1-090311-27

  • LET ME JUST SAY FIRST OFF THAT I AM VERY VERY PROUD OF THIS IMAGE! LOL / I WORK AS A PHOTOGRAPHER IN A HOTEL TAKING CANDID PICTURES OF THE GUESTS BEING ACTIVE. I TOOK THIS OF A LITTLE GIRL PLAYING IN THE POO. SHE HAD GONE UNDERTHE WATER AND I STOOD WITH MY CAMERA FOCUSED ON THE WATER ABOVE WHERE SHE WOULD EMERGE. I MANAGED TO CAPTUER HER HEAD THE SPLIT SECOND IT BURST FORTH FROM THE WATER. THIS IMAGE HAS NOT BEEN PHOTOSHOP-ED AND TEH ONLY THING DONE TO IT TO BRING FORTH THE DETAIL IN THE WATER AND THE EYES WAS TO ENHANCE THE SHARPNESS AND A TOUCH OF CONTRAST AND SATURATION THEN WITH A SLIGHT BLUE TINT TO BRING THE DETAIL OF THE WATER INTO SHARPER FOCUS, WHICH IN TURN GIVES THE ICE CHILLED LOOK. THIS IS THE ORIGINAL JUST TWEEKED TO ENHANCE THE DETAIL. / TAKEN WITH A NIKON D60 USING 55-200mm

  • Lithuania, Klaipeda region, Curonian spit / THIS SERIES FROM / August 14-16, 2009 : morning/day/evening/night CLICK FOR COMMENTS ! The Curonian Lagoon (or Bay, Gulf; Russian: Kуршский залив, Lithuanian: Kuršių Marios, Polish: Zalew Kuroński, German: Kurisches Haff) is separated from the Baltic Sea by the Curonian Spit. / In the 13th century, the area around the lagoon was part of the ancestral lands of the Curonians and Old Prussian people. Later it bordered the historical region of Lithuania Minor. At the northern end of the Spit, there is a passage to the Baltic Sea, and the place was chosen by the Teutonic Knights in 1252 to found Memelburg castle and the city of Memel. The town is officially called Klaipėda since 1923 when the Memel Territory was separated from the German Empire. / As the new Interwar border, the river that flows into the Curonian Lagoon near Rusnė (German: Ruß) was chosen. The river’s lower 120km in Germany were called die Memel by Germans, while the upper part located in Lithuania was known as Nemunas River. The border also separated the peninsula near the small holiday resort of Nida, Lithuania (German: Nidden); the southern part of the Spit and the Lagoon remained in Germany until 1945. / This border remains today, as after World War II, the southern end of the Spit and the German area south of the river, the part of East Prussia with the town Königsberg located in Sambia, became part an exclave of Russia called Kaliningrad Oblast.
