This vibrant spring bouquet is composed entirely of heirloom flowers and memory of its perfume still lingers for me. Its two major bulbs are Tulip ‘Prinses Irene’ (a sweetly fragrant tulip) and the richly scented, dusky blue-purple of the exquisite Hyacinth ‘King of the Blues’ from 1863. Combine those notes with that of vintage Lilac ‘Sensation’ and a volatile perfume is born. Together, these floral colors and forms clearly signal that it’s time to celebrate spring!
