2008. Age 21 This started as a simple pen sketch (just quickly jotting down some ideas), but now i feel very happy with the finished result. There is a lot of meaning behind this image, however i will reframe from sharing my own ideas in fear of hindering your own nterpretations. Thank you for viewing my artwork.

“THE STORY OF DESTINY She was separated from her Mother who had escaped into the frigid waters, during the terrifying confusion of the seal hunt. Meanwhile the Baby floated away alone, on a tiny raft of pack ice. She drifted throughout the night, desperately calling for her Mother. Morning came and found her miles from where the humans had caused such panic the day before. After many hours of lonely despair, the two loving Harp Seals found each other; finally safe from the reach of the fishermen! Reunited again, the Mother in her gratitude, named her miracle child “Destiny”. ~ Skye Ryan-Evans © ~ This beautiful image and story was created to protest the annual seal hunt and to raise awareness of the beauty and gentleness of our precious Harp Seals. Not only are they endangered by rising ocean temperatures, but they also suffer huge losses at the hands of seal hunters every year. It’s time such barbaric activities were stopped immediately. 25% of all sales benefit the great harpseals.org. Thank you for caring about endangered wildlife.

Acrylic with metallic and glitter overlays on gallery wrap canvas, 40×40cm I should be feeling fantastic, my spirit should be soaring – instead I find myself earthbound and full of pain. Having stupidly broken my toe on Monday (the first broken bone ever), and being unable to take pain meds I just feel like crap. So I paint. This is for my sons girlfriends 18th Birthday and the symbology is clear (well, to me anyway) – but you can add your interpretations please:) Its also based in the song that I played a lot: INXS – Afterglow: “Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow / Heal me from all this sorrow / As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes / Now I’m living in your afterglow…” reproduced in part all credit and copyright of these lyrics belong to INXS

Fairies are personifications of human wishes or frustrations in the form of little people with magical powers. They appear in most folk traditions under various names, usually as nature spirits enjoying their own lives at a supernatural level, sometimes meddling in human affairs. Their importance in symbolism is mainly orally and literary. As their name (derived from the Latin fata, “fate”) suggests, they appear essentially to explain gently the workings of destiny with its unpredictable gifts or disappointments. This Is The Print Version Of My Work Acrylic on canvas The first painting in the series is the Key Series I it is symbolic of unlocking your destiny. The door in this series is symbolic of your future. I saw this piece in a dream and made it a reality. It speaks to me of where you must go and what lies ahead if you have the key to it… The French words painted in the background translate: You Will Go Very Far.
