Aerial view of a drying Tullaroop river lined by dead trees, Victoria, Australia, at sunrise with a hard frost.
The Sensual World by Jarko
One I submitted earlier but since improved, near vertical aerial view of a murder of crows above a burnt forest
Worth going to the larger view – lots more stars. / I shot this in winter under a full moon at about midnight at Lake Eucumbene in the Snowy Mountains, Australia. This was my first shoot outside at night in winter. It was minus 5 degrees and when I got back home and my fingers started to thaw out I couldn’t believe the pain – Lesson 1 for winter night shots – wear mittens at the very least! / These trees were drowned along with a whole valley to create a man-made lake as part of a hydro scheme in the 1950s. They’ve resurfaced as a result of a drought we’ve been having for the last few years courtesy of global warming.

Travelling through Arizona I noticed so much desolation, abandoned structures, disconnected souls… which prompted me to stop and listen, I’m fascinated with connecting sound to the visual medium. / How do you visually capture the sound / of desolation…this is my attempt…. The transparency of the girl shows a dissociativeness with the landscape. / Is she there only in spirit? Not only until one is heard completely do they connect totally with their environment.
Like in the words of the song…..... know when to hold her, know when to fold her, know when to walk away, know when to run….......................................
Thank you for viewing and comments always welcome. Vonne
just a sketch type thing, no ref. / acrylic and oils. 40”x32”. / I would like to start doing some landscapes again.
The world is about to end because of global warming. Temperatures are soaring, ice is melting, glaciers are retreating, seas are rising, and we’re all going to fry. We’re all up to here with worry about it. The Royal Society says there’s no longer any room for scientific doubt about it. Britain’s Chief Scientist says it’s a bigger threat than global terrorism. / Every global warming sceptic is denounced as clinically insane. Every developed nation wags its finger at every other (well, ok then, at America) and tells it to Emit Less. Every politician and B-list celebrity now anxiously measures his or her carbon footprint. Every British schoolchild is now drilled to believe that man-made global warming is a Fact along with poverty and the existence of Belgium. It’s a wonder any of us has any incentive to get up in the morning. :) Online Galleries: / Surrealism art prints / 2d3d graphic design software / 3ds models max software

“So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, / The crawling locust, / The consuming locust, / And the chewing locust, / My great army which I sent among you. You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, / And praise the name of the LORD your God, / Who has dealt wondrously with you; / And My people shall never be put to shame. Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel: / I am the LORD your God / And there is no other. / My people shall never be put to shame. “ / ~Joel 2:25-27 Stock Credits: / Sxc.hu / aurochstock.deviantart.com
“For me it’s a great visual metaphor to represent the journey from the “seen” – the mundane and bland – to the “unseen” that beckons when walking through the door – the dream, the hope, the extraordinary. If you don’t open up your mind and be prepared to take the journey through the door, you will never escape the trappings of the present…” / By monocotylidono / Thank you my friend for putting into words what i wanted this piece to mean!
