Well we failed in our project to create more hours in the day – so we’ve resorted to pouring more fuel into the fire. Here’s the job ad we put together: RedBubble is looking for a standards-based web designer to help create polished user interfaces. We’d really like to meet someone with strong front-end development skills (you’ll know what that entails), as well as the visual design nous required to create usable and elegant screens. Standards-based CSS & XHTML, and an eye for visual design are required. Exposure to SEO techniques, Unix command line skillz and source control are all nice to have. Experience with scripting languages is a plus. Our site’s built with Rails, so experience with Ruby would have us doing backflips, though it’s not a requirement. If you’re an experienced designer, and you know your HEAD from your POST, get in touch with Pete at jobs@redbubble.com. Location: Melbourne, Australia. PS – We’re also hiring for a customer service guru and and an accounting genius

Starting my own blog on this cause why the hell not! I WOULD LIKE TO RE-ITERATE SOMETHING SOMEONE SAID, This is an ARTistic community site, I been here since almost the beginning and am seeing a lot of people come here ASSUMING that this is a PHOTOGRAPHY SITE (which can be art too can’t it), BUT SOME DAYS I FEEL LIKE YOU ARE TAKING OVER… So you can take 2000 photos in a day and 1500 of them are good and you can upload them over 1 week. Great… To do a good piece of art take WAY LONGER THAN THAT…. even digital. Just something to consider cause MAN THE ART IS GETTING LOST, SO LOST IT IS MORE THAN ANNOYING. AM I AM A GRAPHIC ARTIST THAT TAKES PHOTOS. It really makes a lot of ‘photographers’ look a bit silly if they are commenting on my images and saying things like ‘nice treatment’. GRAPHIC ARTIST/DESIGNERS don’t really treat photos, we manipulate them and in a lot of cases mutilate them and take them completely out of context. Change light sources, create alternate realities and unrealistic artistic things. SO HERES A BUSHFIRE THAT COULD USE A BLOG OF ITS OWN…. WHERE DOES PHOTOGRAPHY STOP AND GRAPHIC DESIGN START.??? If you clip out a sky and replace it with another one, alter nature, add colouring, tone this, airbrush that, lengthen that body, etc. etc. etc. Aren’t you manipulating the original image and then that becomes GRAPHIC DESIGN??? DIGITAL ART – Art created using a computer. PHOTOGRAPHY – An image captured as close to what the eye can perceive (of course I know that you mess with brightness and contrast and have been doing tweaking forever, but wasn’t that originally to replicate the record of the event)... WONDER HOW MANY PEOPLE GET TRICKED BY GRAPHIC DESIGNERS IN THE MEDIA POSING AS PHOTOGRAPHERS. and I AM REALLY SICK OF HEARING ABOUT MONEY HERE… ARE YOU ARTISTS OR INDUSTRY… We all want to make money doing what we love, some of us do art regardless of money…

Hi anybody having problems with T/Shirt designing…. / I use software called Paint.net and find it so simple / any one wanting details just send bubblemail and I will answer straight away as I spend most of the day at Computer Hey just thought that I would sit and write out my way of doing it useing Paint.net / Here goes….. / First open paint.net then get new.click on image, resize :- and clear maintain aspect / and clear set absolute size, then set to 3200 pixels high and 2400 pixels wide then set resolution to 200 this sets the size to 12×16 inches. / save this as T/Shirt template.png / Open this and carry on as follows / to load a picture go to layer and click add image this will open up the place that you have your pictures stored, open picture that you want and it will appear in the top left corner, click on move pixels and you can then resize the picture and move it to where you want it to appear on the T/Shirt.having done that go to edit and invert selection / then edit and erase selection, you will now have your picture where you want it, / for further editing you can remove parts of the picture by using the eraser . / You can also add text if you want to. / I hope that this helps /

I put this journal in here, for all to see, as I have been asked quite a few times recently how to do it. So I thought I would just save myself having to type it every time. For all that need help to upload T-shirt designs. / First You need to go into where you upload T shirt images and save the T shirt template to your own personal files. / Then go into your photo program and open a new work area selecting TRANSPARENT in the background drop box. Then set the mega pixels to exactly 2400×3200. / Next put the template on to fit the workspace, and put your image over it centering it on the red lines. When you are happy with the placement etc of your image, delete the template and save the image as a PNG file. It is now ready to upload. / Hope this helps. I decided to put this info in here for all to read, as I had to type at least 4 times last night. / Good luck.

The Logo As you’ll remember from this we set Xavier the challenge of redesigning the logo on pain of biscuit deprivation. However the sneaky man went vegan at about the same time just to thwart us. But he still came through with the goods, which now adorn the top of every page for a day or two. I, for one, think it reeks of awesomeness. And all he used were these, in fact, only about two of these: And to show that he’s not wasteful, after the shoot, he then proceeded to make two huge toasted sandwiches, and promptly ate the logo: He was extremely encouraged by all of your support, and thanks you. However at the time of going to press no one could comment on whether he had scrubbed his feet or not. The Competition In other news, the new Compassion competition (and group) has been launched, and Gaia has been closed. Other things We didn’t quite finish the other big things we were working on this week, but we’ll have a special RedBubble Wednesday this week (due to Anzac day). Reminders There is only one week left before this awesome t-shirt concept disappears forever, go improve your wardrobe. Your faithful reporters Charles Foster Kane & Justin

Art Criticism: How to Criticize a Work of Art / A four step process This is what I give my students as a guide to art appreciation: 1. Description- What do I see? Study the work in detail carefully. Describe the work in full detail. Be factual. Mention everything you see. 2. Analysis- How is the work organized? Look for and talk about the elements and principles of art and design that seems to dominate the work. Look at how the artist has used The Elements of Art / • Lines- real and implied, curved and straight, direction of movement / • Shapes, Space, Forms- Are the shapes geometric or free-form? Where is the horizon? Where is your point of view as the viewer? (Above, below, in the work, or outside) / • Colors- Warm, cool, bright, dull, soft, bold, etc. / • Value- light: reflecting much light; dark: absorbing much light. / • Texture-Both the medium and the objects portrayed: rough, smooth, shinny, dull Look at The Principles of Design / • Rhythm- Are there repeats of elements or images? / • Movement- Is there an illusion of action? How does the eye move around the work? / • Balance- Formal or Symmetrical, informal or asymmetrical / • Proportion- The size relationships between one part to the whole or one part to another part / • Variety- Visual difference and contrast within the work / • Emphasis- What part is dominant, and what part is subordinate? / • Unity- Does the work hold together? 3. Interpretation- What is happening? This is more than storytelling. As in literature, you need to interpret and generalize from data given. You need to find the metaphor or allegory in the work. What is the artist trying to communicate? Use your intelligence, imagination and courage to explain and tell the meaning of the work. This is based on the facts you have observed and your own life experiences. You can express your feelings, but they must be backed up by the observations you have made about the work. 4. Judgment- What do I think of the work? Does the work hold together visually? Does it communicate with the viewer? Judge whether the work succeeds or fails. You give your opinion backed by the three steps above. To make a judgment, you need to be honest with yourself. You need to know why you feel the way you do. Three Theories of Judging Art Imitationalism -Some people believe that art should imitate what we see in the real world. / Formalism – Some people believe that the most important part of a work is in the use of the principles of design and the elements of art. A work is successful if the texture, color, lines, etc are organized properly. / Emotionalism – Some people believe that the most important part of the work is the mood the artist communicates. Perhaps it is best to use all three theories when judging a work of art. Adapted from many sources, including Arttalk by Rosalind Ragans

I made some free buttons for your website and feel free to use them. When you need another text, just ask me, I will do it for you… You just need to copy the address under the button (or any address of any picture at the internet, it works with .jpg and .png) and copy it to your profile / My bubble -> account -> edit your profile -> tell us about yourself You write for this the copied address between two exclamation marks without a space / !copied address! After this you write a double point and the link url-address (http://www.redbubble.com/link…..). At the end it should look like this: / !copied address!:link And at the end a little tip…. When you would like the visitors to see also your older work, not just only the first page… then lead them randomly to any page in your collection… All you have to do is to fill in this form and copy the address you get as a link for example to your my clothes button.... After this visitors will land not only at the beginning pages of your collection, by randomly everywhere…. :) http://images-2.redbubble.net/img/art/size:ularge/view:main/1865589-2-art.jpg http://images-0.redbubble.net/img/art/size:ularge/view:main/1865593-2-clothing.jpg http://images-1.redbubble.net/img/art/size:ularge/view:main/1865597-2-writing.jpg http://images-0.redbubble.net/img/art/size:ularge/view:main/1865604-2-calendars.jpg http://images-3.redbubble.net/img/art/size:ularge/view:main/1865608-2-wallart.jpg http://images-3.redbubble.net/img/art/size:ularge/view:main/1865610-2-greeting-cards.jpg http://images-2.redbubble.net/img/art/size:ularge/view:main/1865614-2-bubblesite.jpg http://images-2.redbubble.net/img/art/size:ularge/view:main/1865621-2-sold-work.jpg http://images-0.redbubble.net/img/art/size:ularge/view:main/1865624-2-bestseller.jpg http://images-1.redbubble.net/img/art/size:ularge/view:main/1865630-2-favorite-work.jpg http://images-3.redbubble.net/img/art/size:ularge/view:main/1865637-2-featured.jpg http://images-1.redbubble.net/img/art/size:ularge/view:main/1868788-2-website.jpg Read also: Tricks how to sell more… or Well balanced color palettes… or Ultimate Link Collection for creatives!

For those new to the world of t-shirt designs here is a quick and simple mini-tutorial that should help you create a working design using the GNU Image Manipulation Program otherwise known as The Gimp. It is free and available for download from here. I’ve tried to make this as simple as possible with only the absolute necessary steps, and as such it does assume some basic understanding of how to use the program, such as knowing where the menus are and how to use the tools. There are plenty of things you can do differently, but since I’m new to using the program I probably don’t know about all of them yet. This tutorial will probably be updated as I learn more about the program. 1. Create a new image, make everything in the new image dialogue look like this: 2. Paste the image into the document. Remove any bits you don’t want on the shirt… and make sure it has a checkered background, which indicates transparency. It’s best to merge all visible layers before exporting. If you have multiple transparent layers they’ll all merge nicely, but don’t flatten the image, because that would eliminate the transparency. Ideally you’ll want to end up with a single transparent layer before exporting. 3. Save as a PNG by typing the name you want as the filename. Then click the little plus sign down the bottom where it says “Select File Type (By Extension)” and then choose PNG from the list of filetypes. / Once you do that the PNG export box will pop up, make it look like this: And that’s it. Pretty simple actually. Once uploaded, the resulting shirt should look something like this: So there you go. If you stick to these steps, it should work fine – although if it doesn’t, please let me know by leaving a comment here.

I have been getting many e-mails asking about how I convert my drawings from paper to tee-shirts, with a transparent background. Here’s how I do it: I scan my drawings, then if needed, I clean them up by erasing extra marks and such. Then I use a photoshop action that can be downloaded here: Link This action is for Adobe photoshop only! How it works: this works only with black/white images (colored images will be automatically converted to b/w), and basically converts everything to black, but the lighter areas become various transparencies of black (this results in various shades of gray when viewed against any background). After you apply the action, you end up with two layers: background (white) and outlines (the drawing). I delete the background layer, and…ta-da!! If I choose to color the design, then I create another layer, and put it underneath the outlines layer, so that the color would go under the black outlines. Note: tweak your contrast and levels BEFORE applying the action, as you won’t be able to tweak anything afterward because your drawing will be technically all BLACK. I tried to explain this as best as I could, and hope this makes sense to everyone. / Feel free to ask any further questions!! Olga Here are some samples of my work where I used this process: 1st one is a pencil drawing, and the 2nd was drawn in pen. / / /

Hello, A while ago a little birdy requested I put together a tutorial about how ‘robot rights’ was put together. So here goes. This is the t-shirt : Step 1 – The Idea and the Process Every t-shirt design starts with an idea and every t-shirt design ends up differently than originally planned. This is because the process almost always throws up a new opportunity, something unexpected will happen or another idea will strike mid-way and change the way things are going. This is why, for me, the idea and the process are the most important things when designing a t-shirt. Most of my designs will take a few hours a day over several days to put together. I love wallowing in the process; it’s a pleasure. It’s great to put something away and come back to it with a fresh pair of eyes and then agonise over the composition or become anal about trivial details and colours. When I started working on robot rights the idea was simply this : to use an existing photo but explore compositional techniques which ‘break the frame’. Step 2 – The photo I started with the cropped photo and an uncropped black and white version of the photo as two layers in photoshop. I worked at full resolution (10 megapixels). This is the cropped photo : / This is the black and white photo, uncropped : / This is the two photos sitting together : / Step 3 – Selecting ‘break out’ elements After much umming and arring, two pieces were chosen and cut out as the break out bits. They were chosen because of their diagonally opposite relationship to each other so that the composition retained balance and the placement further enhanced the left to right diagonal perspective in the image. The cut outs are shown here, each had it’s own layer. / / Step 4 – Removing background stuff This process was the same for the tree and the graffiti, so I’m just going to show the graffiti. Because the image is black and white, things were a little simpler, but this technique should work for colour images too. First off I needed to increase the contrast so that the graffiti would emerge from the surrounding stuff. For improving contrast I use curves. I love curves. In the image below you can see a distinctive ‘S shape that I have manipulated in the curve (it starts off as a straight 45 degree line), this increases contrast but also allows you to control how much and where. Click here for a comprehensive tutorial on curves and levels To adjust curves, go to : Image>Adjustments>Curves / / I then switched to levels to increase the contrast further, note that I have slid one of the tabs at the bottom of the histogram inwards to get maximum effect; Image>Adjustments>Levels I then used curves one more time. Image>Adjustments>Curves So that’s starting look pretty good and ready for the next step using the selection tool. Step 5 – The Selection Tool The final thing to do is remove the background stuff. To do this I used the selection tool. / / Select>Colour Range I used the eyedropper and clicked on the darkest area of the graffitti, the preview window shows what will be selected from the image, by adjusting the fuzziness slider you can see how much of the image will be selected. I maxed out the fuzziness slider and got a very clean selection. I hit ‘ok’ then inversed the selection (Select>Inverse) and hit ‘delete’. Perfect. I did the exact same process for the tree and had to go in with the eraser tool to remove the powerlines which had also been selected. The final layout is below. I then saved out a copy as a png file, opened up the trusty RB T-Shirt template and resized my png to 2400 pixels wide (Image>Image Size). I then dragged the resized png onto the template, placed the image where I wanted it, deleted the template layer and saved the file for upload to RedBubble. Fini.

Not happy at all. Went to Warringah Mall today to specifically to buy a pencil case. I like the smiggle store and it seems they like me to. I wandered in, and all over the wall, on mouse pads, pencils cases, book covers, and every other thinkable item was their design called ‘samurai’ excuse the bad photo, it was taken with my iphone, but ill get better photos next time im at the mall. just needed to jump on to redbubble and vent. I have had someone from zazzle steal my geisha design but they didnt realise that what they were doing was wrong. this is an Australian company with lots of stores stealing from a local designer!! madness! / will get better pics very soon! / mikoto’s samurai what do i do now? I spoke to the store manager and they said that the designer is from Melbourne? Oh and for fun spot similarities! oh, here as better proof, thanks MarbiaStudios: http://www.smiggle.com.au/SM_navIWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=8&Section_Id=&pcount=&Product_Id=1321097:

If, like me you’re trying to improve all the time (not always succeeding :) ) and get some exposure and success sales-wise then you may want to check out the following sites for inspiration and also ways to direct people to your portfolio on RB: Competitions and other places to submit (some of which mentioned by various people in forums and journals) – in no particular order: Design by Humans – a well regarded ‘vote to print’ site – also has some good resources like ‘realistic’ templates to use for ‘model’ images. Tee invaders – A new competition site (haven’t checked it out yet) KingStrike – A slightly different concept – People buy the rights to your design for printing Teenormous – A great collection of shirts from around the web Threadless – No news here – everyone knows about Threadless. As I found it’s not easy to get into!! – lots of competition. It’s a community of sorts like RB, and You can add your own blog feed in your Threadless profile (so you can point it to your own blog, or your works on RB) – submission kit also has resources for ‘model’ images Shirt.w00t – another rolling competition with different challenges TeeFury – one a day – vote etc Teextile – This is brand new, and is another ‘one a day’ site. May be a good time to get something in there… Caponocca – Another competition site – $2500 for printed shirts 6 dollar shirts – Currently accepting submissions (2 colour designs) Mysoti – A fairly new POD (print on demand) site similar (in some ways) to RB, but without the community. Don’t know about the quality but the I’ve sold a couple there. Full Metal Shirt – Another competition site… Uneetee – Another US-based vote and print site Emptees – An aggregator, community and blog for your own and other’s designs Rumplo – another aggregator of other people’s designs. Unfortunately they don’t accept design suggestions from RB, but if you do a little digging you might find a way… StumbleUpon – Social bookmarking – Add your bubblesite, your blog etc – some people have reported success from this. Feedburner – Syndicate and publicise your ‘feeds’. This could be your blog, your works on RB, or pretty much anything. Feedburner allows you to get stats on the feeds, publish them elsewhere, and also create all sorts of widgets for subscribing etc. I’ve started putting the ‘stay in touch’ section in my posts to see how it goes… (might post more detail on this as it’s a bit more technical) I love your t-shirt – a sort of blog but also a place to submit designs to get seen A better tomorrow – a German design competition site Spring Leap – Another competition site (haven’t really looked yet) ModernTee – Another competition site ($250 per design) oh yeah – Zazzle and Cafepress if you want to sell mouse mats ;) FFFFound – Image bookmarking blogs that you may want to look at to find the sites yourself Competeetion – This is a great place to find out about other sites and competitions going on around the web. Hide your arms – A pretty good T blog – with the most useful post about basically every other T shirt blog. (that saves me writing the rest out under here!) TCritic – Another blog – not very frequent Fashionably geek – Clothing and accessories for the ‘well-dressed geek’ The Fresh Stock – Street wear and art TeeBurb – Tee designer community, blog – integrates with Twitter Teecraze – Nice simple syndication blog RB Tee Designers Sites / Blogs Redbubble home pages – find the historical home pages here Grandia Design – Clothing and interviews with fellow RB’ers (including ME) from the excellent Grandia Design Redbubble Twitter Twibe Bubbling under the surface – Unofficial RB Blog Diesel Laws – The mightly Diesel, now with a new full stop. This is an extremely simple design effect. Probably image dependant to a certain degree, but try it out and see what you come up with. Our image is brought to us by lock-e over at the StockExchange site HERE I have resized the image for this tutorial and darkened it a little. Open the image and bring up your Rulers by going to View>Rulers – select the Single Row Marquee tool from the side toolbar, it is nestled with the rectangular marquee tool etc., and create a new blank layer. Make sure the f/ground is set to black – if you are using a dark image use white. And referencing the image below just click and the single row marquee will appear, Alt + Backspace to fill with black/white and then deselect. Duplicate the marquee layer Ctrl + J or drag it to the create new layer icon at the bottom of the layers palette, grab the move tool ( V key on the keyboard) and then drag the duplicated line to where you want it. Continue doing this until you have all the lines as you want them. You might end up with something similar to mine – See image below. If you are happy with the lines merge the line layers into one layer. Select the single column marquee tool and make vertical lines the same way you did the horizontal ones . see image Once you are happy with lines, merge the vertical lines together and then merge the vertical and horizontal layers together. Go to View and uncheck rulers, rename the merged vertical and horizontal layers Grid Guide. Create a new blank layer, make the f/ground colour white and choose the rectangular marquee tool (M on the keyboard) Go around the image and randomly select some of the squares (or whatever shape they may be), you could select two squares at the one time if you want. See my image below for my first selection. Once you have that done, Alt + Backspace on the keyboard to fill the squares with white. Deselect, and then take the opacity of the layer down to whatever suits you, I did 25%. Turn the Grid Guide layer off to get an idea of what is going on. Continue randomly selecting areas, filling them with white and changing the layer opacity on new layers to build up the effect. Once you are happy, you can throw the Grid Guide layer away. You could also add some text to the image etc., and you may end up with something similar to the Final below, or you may end up with something much better because you’ll take more time making it :) As an end note, you don’t have to use white in the squares, use whatever colours you want. Have fun!

Being a creative person is a bit like being a sponge. Part of maintaining an interest in art and creativity is to seek inspiration from things around us. It helps to keep that spark firing, even when we may not have the time to create art ourselves. / / It’s interesting to keep one eye on what’s making the news when it comes to art and design. You never know what kind of inspiration you might find in your newspaper or online. Here are some art related stories that have sparked our imaginations in the past week: Bansky versus Bristol Museum Banksy has unveiled his largest ever project: Bansky versus Bristol Museum, a full-scale infiltration and “remix” of Bristol City Museum and its works. Art’s leading lights head for Vauxhall car boot sale The annual Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair sees popular contemporary artists flogging their art out of car boots at bargain prices. It took place in London this weekend. When the Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair first opened for business five years ago, the notion that famous artists would ever really resort to peddling their wares from the back of a hatchback was a joke. Tim Burton to exhibit at the MoMA Tim Burton’s drawings, stories and puppets are the focus of a major show at Moma later this year. The show will include more than 700 pieces: paintings, drawings, storyboards, maquettes, puppets and other work created or designed by Burton. Artists say no to Google An invitation to put art on Google Chrome has caused grousing among illustrators, who don’t see why a profitable company like Google shouldn’t pay for their work. The Eames House turns 60 The Eames House in Pacific Palisades, California, is celebrating its 60th birthday. The ingenuity of the prefabricated structure dazzled architects and designers at the time, and still does today. Hello Tee Peeps Okay, I’ve been a little absent from the Bub of late, however, there is a very good reason (I have a note!)... Selling tees on the Bub taught me a very important lesson- that if you can come up with cool product, and then build a targeted community around it, you’ve got yourself a great business model. So I did. With the money I made from my JOKE tee shirt, I went and bought myself two sewing machines and a roll of fabric. Then I started a blog, and slowly built up a community around it. Finally I launched an online clothing company (Black Milk), which has been really successful. It’s a lot of fun. :) Anyway, the reason I’m dropping y’all a line is to ask a favour, and to offer one: I’m hoping to open a shop in central Brisbane soon, and if I do I’ll probably be stocking RedBubble gear in it (I’ll certainly use art from the Bub for the walls!). I just need a little help opening it. Brisbane Marketing is running a competition where local fashion designers compete to win A FULLY FITTED OUT SHOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY RENT FREE FOR 6 MONTHS. We’re talking about a $50 000 prize package. Damn! The competition is simple, the designer with the most votes gets the shop. I know I haven’t been around RB much lately ( in fact pretty scarce since the beginning of 2009). And I have gotten a number of emails on that front. Well, all is delightful thanks, and I’m still creating art (though currently focusing my writing on business topics and a little poetry). Sorry, I don’t mean to neglect doing the rounds and posting comments on the many artwork uploaded to RB, but I will – PROMISE! I never forget friends, despite the absence in time. As some members already know, I am involved in a number of projects online, including business and finance, marketing and much more. I am the founder of a few Art groups, one of the largest is on Imagekind call DIGITAL FINE ART (DFA) – specifically geared towards Digital Artists. On top of those, I manage nearly a dozen business related websites. There are some exciting Art related projects upcoming this fall and next year, which am privileged to be a part of, and will tell you more as they unfold. If you have a FaceBook page (I just became a member), I’ll be privileged to have your profile connect with mine there. Also, if you have a Scribd.com account, or LinkedIn account, please add your profile to mine as well. Sorry, I dont Twitter yet, but hope soon….Oh, just in case you are not aware, Scibd now offers its members a chance to sell their literature directly from the site (currently only available to US residents). It’s a great opportunity for anyone who writes poetry and other literature, and who self-publish stuff. It’s an unbelievable opportunity because the site has millions of users, plus millions of visitors daily! My own documents (47 in total) currently has nearly 41,000 read pages!! As am living in Canada, I shall await Scribd’s e-commerce option for international countries to sell books. In the meantime, have fun (just like that tiny image I recently posted on my profile). That’s what life is all about; never letting anything get you down, being true to yourself, smile in the face of dilemma. Please feel free to contact me if you wish to learn more about my online projects, or just to say “hi”. All the best to everyone. Solomon Walker DFA / Scribd / FaceBook / Bountiful Health / MDFA / LinkedIn / Flickr / Zazzle A Big thank you to Linaji and the ABSTRACT DIGITAL ART AND WRITING group here on RB, for the recent feature of my painting “A Summer On Mar” . Appreciate it alot. /

Ok, I think the confession needs to come first. Hello, my name is Rhana, and I have a Twilight addiction. I read all four Twilight books in under a week. Ask my mother-in-law if you don’t believe me, she had the misfortune of being over on holiday for that exact week. I think she was lucky to get a complete sentence from me the whole time she was here! I have indecent thoughts no 36 year old woman should have about a 24 year old. No, I am not talking about Edward. The object of my fantasy is Kellan Lutz, who plays the totally buff Emmett Cullen. Bella… well, I simply adore her character. Aside from the whole name thing, I relate to her clumsiness, her fearlessness and courage in the face of adversity, and of course she is totally gorgeous. I have watched the Twilight movie at least 14 times, and have a countdown installed on my mac that lets me know how long I have to wait until the New Moon movie is released in Australia. 56 days:17 hours:37minutes and 36 seconds at the current time of writing. I make no excuses for my addiction. It is what it is. And… I want a t-shirt. I suppose I could attempt to design one myself, but I am a complete novice when it comes to tees. So I am putting the call out to all the Redbubble tee designers out there interested in making a sale and the knowledge that a design of theirs will be worn with pride and love. I would like a tee visually depicting the Twilight quote “And so the lion fell in love with the lamb” Yeah yeah, probably the most corniest line of the whole book/movie… which is likely why I love it so much :) The parameters: I like cartoon type designs… the cuter the better. Lovehearts will score big bonus points. It has to look good on black. It may, or may not, include the words in the quote. I also like designs that are off centre, but that’s not a biggie. So… anyone up for the challenge? Post your designs below. There is no time limit on this one, but I think I will up up for a shopping expedition in the next couple of weeks :)

I have had enough!.... I have been working on a logo for Jemima Loves Big Ted for a loooooooooong, looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time and I am totally at a loss. I hate each and every design that I have managed to come up with, and I think its now my turn to put it out there to you fellow designers to help me with it. I am willing to pay, however having just finished being a student and not having loads of work right now, I am not rolling in it. Would saaaaay…. $100 be enough to tempt some people? I am going to follow along the same sort of guidelines (and thanks for the inspiration Dan) of Tate in his quest for his look and that is - 1. I will choose my favourites from the submissions and put it to a public vote. 2. I may not decide to use any of the submissions, but if I do choose a logo that knocks my socks off I will pay the designer $100 cash or equivalent in any other form of currency or services (I am a great cook and love gardening, I even do lawn mowing) 3. You have until 23rd October to get your designs in (is that long enough?) After which voting, then choosing. Inspiration – Ummmmmm….. Damn, I don’t feel particularly inspired right now and have been going over this for years so whatever you can come up with is probably better. Colours – Not the biggest fan of pink, but will certainly allow it, if it looks UBER Cool within the design. Note: It does not have to be a literal interpretation of my name. If you need some more help with this, please bmail me with any questions you may have. Have fun peeps! Enter as many as you like
