  • one of my personal favorite, maybe it’s because No.4 was the first piece on which I deliberately put the feel of “texture.” It carries a strong sense of movement that magnifies through the shade, color and geometric effect. Unlike other designs, I applied a horizontal view for this postcard design, and added a white space on the right, just for balance’s sake (the original aspect ratio of No.4 is 1.0). Anyway, enjoy. : ]

  • this is one of a series of three. This one is for a commission. Knowing a little about the person, besides knowing he likes red, and abstract, and loads of texture, he’s also gone through big change in his life (new business, going well, old relationship ended) One of the things he loves in his business is seeing a ‘situation’ and cleaning it up to be fresh, sparkling and better than expected. Bearing this in mind, the surface of the canvas was highly textured. There is loads of ‘chaos’ that is steam rolled through, leaving a shining path. It is a visual reminded of his efforts of the day, and the mark he leaves on the world. It is vision of happiness, a job well done, a tribute to freedom and moving forward. I have amped up the colour so it looks great in print.

  • Sales of this Design? – 1 sale so far :) / Beach Series’ card by Karin Taylor Hula Hips is a mixed media production on paper impressed with a canvas texture. I use a combination of ink, pastel, charcoal and acrylic paint. I like to use pastel over the top of acrylic, allowing the acrylic to show through a bit. Hula Hips is a really out there kinda girl, loves life and lives it to the full! A nice happy birthday card this would make :D

  • Sales of this Design? – 4 sales so far :) / ‘Beach Series’ card by Karin Taylor ‘I saw the angel in the marble and I carved until I set him free.” – Michelangelo Ocean Angel is a mixed media production (ink, charcoal, pastel, acrylics) on canvas textured paper. Ocean Angel is a beautiful mer-angel, a mythical creature from my own imagination….unlike the mermaids who are generally mischievous in folklore, Ocean Angel tends to care :D
