Good morning everyone!! Yea, it’s 6 bloody am here in Sg, but guess what?! / Frozenfa.com is officially “live” now!! YESH!!! FINALLY!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Finally.. this is my very first official domain name. I’ve decided to retain the name frozenfa, seeing that i’ve been using it for my username all around for the past.. 6yrs? So yeap!! Do drop by my webbie if you wish to read up a lil more about me and the different characters i’ve made for my tees!! There’s no new design yet, but just you wait!! am now left with painting the house.. give me 1 week.. by mid Aug, i should be able to continue illustrating! i can do it!! nyaaaaaaaaanyanya!!! Oh, if you’re wondering what took me so long? Well, i actually finish designing it in June. Did the pages last month.. then got stuck with the Wall-E project.. The codings are not perfect.. am not a programmer (almost failed that module..). so i still haven’t make the codes for my enquiry page more strict.. I will be working on the Mobile Phone Wallpaper Downloads next! hope i can finish and upload it by Monday. So stay tune for that!! It seems everywhere I look, design is lacking the use of effective white space. Many designers seem to feel that they need to fill up every part of the page and make their concepts as complicated as possible. It may just be me, but this kind of design confuses me, and as a viewer makes the concept very hard on the eyes. / Whatever happened to making the message as simple and clear as possible. After all, graphic design is essentially visual communication. Apply too many elements and the message gets lost. Lets preserve white space and think about placement of a design within the page and use the white space to guide us through the message. Remember the old KISS principle. It was a valuable lesson I was once taught by a wise designer.

Michael James Toomy is a Pop Artist from Londonderry in America. Michael is a professional artist who has based his works on pop, edgy paintings and also photographic adjustments to some world famous celebrities. Some work of his has been on common favourite celebrities like Elvis Pressley, Jimi Hendrix, Grace Kelly and one of the most is pop artworks and images on Marilyn Monroe. Michael is involved in a wide range of artistic activities. Toomy has been painting & drawing since he was a child, but has received little professional artistic schooling, with the exception of some Saturday classes at the MFA Boston & continuing art education classes over the years. His Londonderry Fine Art is a place where the public can go onto his site and look through all the different types of designs Michael does. Custom Portraits, Corporate Art, Themed Art, Toomytoons Children’s Art and Real Estate Art are some of the categories he offers in his pop art style of work. Michael’s work has been featured in galleries and numerous group & solo shows. He currently works out of his studio in New Hampshire with wife & 2 children. Mostly all of Michaels works are one on one full headshots of the stars. The majority of them are in the black, white and grey shades, which make them look like they’re from older decades and make them look more professional and modern. I found that Michaels image of Grace Kelly was one that stood out towards me. One of the main reasons I like the piece is the way he has used the black, white and grey shades to alter the image and capture her distinguished facial features and her elegance. The darker blacks outline her white face. He face is large and covers the width and length of the canvas, from corner to corner. Her face is so perfect and he beauty just captures the viewer. He really does capture the beauty & grace, of Grace Kelly. Michael uses RedBubble successfully to promote his varies artworks including calendars, clothing and art pieces. I’ve gone and done it lol. Severly lacking inspiration and needing to get creative I dove straight into this with both eyes shut!. Being unable to find exaclty what i’ve been looking for I decided to try my hand at mask making. My new show will be showcasing masquerade masks, and apparently that is in very limited supply here! i have found one mask maker who is eager to participate in the show, but i also wanted try my hand at it. I am an artist after all lol. Over the last week i’ve found a new admiration for those who create these beautiful masks. Talk about really getting into your work! i’m far from finished and its already taken me a week, with drying times etc. While waiting i’ve been working on several other projects as well. Delving into this unknown area has granted me a view into a world i probably wouldn’t have even given two seconds worth of thought to before. Those who create these beautiful items have vast amounts of patience, endurance ( my arms are sore from all the sanding) and a ton of creative ability. I will post the finished projects when they are done if i deem them to be worthy of viewing lol. So far i like them but who knows what the final project will look like. The Process / traditionally Maquerade masks were made out of paper mache and where created by designers rather than artists , well my first one was done this way until the dog decided it was a yummy chew toy lol… ok back to the drawing board lol. So i then found some clay that i had kicking around and proceeded to sculpt a thin mask. I then sanded and sanded and sanded, and then applied a thin layer of drywall spackle ( inventive yes, useful most definitely) to create as smooth finish as possible, I finally had to give up on sanding due to being worried about breaking the mask so its not as smooth as i would lik but close, after I once again sanded and sanded. I’ve since applied to coats of black paint…. more to come. the first sanded piece. / the first coat of paint /
