I.M. Pei’s Miho Museum, on a mountain ridge in a nature preserve in Shiga Prefecture, Japan, an hour’s drive from Kyoto. The Miho Museum houses Mihoko Koyama’s private collection of Asian and Western antiques belonging to Mihoko Koyama (after whom it is named), the heiress to the Toyobo textile business, and one of the richest women in Japan. This photo shows the tunnel leading into the museum that cuts through the mountain. It`s a 200-metre curve, silent and echoless, and ends with the cables of a half suspension bridge 120 meters across a deep, narrow gorge. Its a stunning museum. If you`re ever in Japan, please check out this hidden gem. !

Nature abstract painting. This weekend I was out in the Hajar Mountains , it is about an hour and half drive from Dubai city . here is what i call magic of nature , to me this is just God being an artist , we all can learn something from That. / these Mountains have many layers as you can see , millions of years old , and each layer only about 6 cm deep. Simply amazing what i Personally learn from Nature.it does not get better than this for me . / I kept the colors the textures the same as they are no playing around with Photoshop here.

MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD / Best viewed large. / / / / “MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD” was featured in the group COUNTRY ROADS/AROUND THE WORLD / / / / “MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD” was featured in the group NATURAL COLOR AND LIGHT / / / This is a recent photo of my favorite country road! It is located in Flatwoods, Kentucky, in Greenup County, which lies in the northeastern part of the bluegrass state. Many of my relatives live in or just outside of Flatwoods, and my Dad built this one. / / The scenery from this road is almost surreal, it is so beautiful. Surrounding this road are country farms, barns and old churches. This road winds around a gorgeous mountain cloaked with a variety of lush trees and evergreens, whose leaves are radiant in the Fall of the year with brilliant shades of yellow, orange, red, brown and green. / / At the top of the mountain is the end of this magnificent road, which leads to a private, gated mansion that overlooks the entire county. It is very quiet and peaceful there, and everything, including time, seems to stand still on this beautiful road. I took this photograph on Christmas day while vacationing in Nipika Eco-Resort in British Columbia. The lighting was perfect along with the low cloud. It had snowed lightly in the morning so the snow was nice and fresh. The low cloud formation gives the photo a nice dramatic look. © 2009 Anne Hale. / /
