Cactus never used to be on my favourite flower list but since discovering it’s amazing hidden beauty, I understand why that house somewhere between Adelaide and Dublin has their whole garden packed to the brim with different types of the prickly plant. / The cactus plants we used to have in the backyard of Laura had variations of pink and red. This particular species starts out red and ends up yellow. Such an amazing plant!

Shortly after daybreak on a little set of dunes adjacent to the Nile River somewhere between Aswan and Luxor. The sands of the desert are highlight by shadows in the sands and the sky is putting on a show for us. It’s not quite a lone tree shot what with the trees on the horizon, but it’s close!
This pictures where taken in Saudi Arabia were I lived for many years. / There are three great and wonderful deserts in Saudi: / Rub’Al Khali, Ad Dahna and Nafud.
