  • Empty road in the middle of the desert, Eastern Sierra Mountains, California

  • / “Kikin’ Dust” was selected as one of the winners in the UK, Liverpool Biannual 2008 Digital Show. Digital Art: Bronc training a fresh horse. / Note: All my digital art work is executed entirely with my mouse and Photoshop Elements’ brushes. It takes hours of concentration, patience and self control. Especially when the mouse wants to go right and you need it to go left! *When this happens , I reluctantly leave my office and go for a stroll in my garden. / That usually takes care of the problem and then, I get back to work :) *

  • Whilst competing in a Rogaine in SW Western Australia my mate and I stumbled upon a deserted farmhouse and out buildings. Because we were camping overnight in roughly the same area I managed to get back the next morning to get a few shots. I only hope I can find my way back there as there are lots of shots to be made.

  • Monument Valley is like a moonscape of amazing red rocks and earth. It was loved by the famous western Director John Ford and is the back drop to many of his classic John Wayne films. Like Stagecoach. Just over the border from Arizona it is truly unforgettable. One of the great places in the world to visit.

  • A young brave is watching in the shadows of the trees. All executed from scratch. In Photoshop Elements I choose a blank “canvas” then I select a brush and start drawing/painting. Again, I take a huge dose of “patience.” :) /

  • Found this guy long after he had spotted me, but he was brave, I got within about 10’ without his moving and shot probably 40 pics over the course of a couple hours (as I kept coming back). • I recently had the priviledge of travelling through central Australia. I scouted out this composition the day before taking this shot. With my planned return the following day and the show exceeded all expectations in a display of desert light and beauty.Glowing in the twilight, a lone ghost gum stands starkly and majestically. • ... but for how long? Our wild horses are at the center of tremendous controversy, as the government agency whose purpose is to protect the herds, announced that they have run out of funds for maintaining more than 33,000 captive horses—and one “solution” was mass “euthanasia”. Recently, the BLM proposed eliminating eleven wild horse areas from the Ely, NV District. All 620 horses in this area would be permanently removed from their natural environment, purportedly blamed for “environmental damage”.
