  • This was one of the most awesome sunsets I have stood around for – way out in the interior. The tree was so arresting in silhouette and the light was pooling more and more intensely. It was actually raining slightly. / And I was getting nibbled at by turtles in the water as I clicked away over that magic hour.

  • Barker Lake in Joshua Tree National Park, California.

  • Australian Outback scene 2007. Water shortage is more and more visible.

  • Pine Creek, Zion National Park, Utah. My conscious goal with this image was to simplify the composition.

  • My son, Davin. Just turned 2 in September.

  • Photo Manipulation. 25 images have been used to create this piece. / 5 stock images have been taken from sxc.hu, the rest are my own. The most difficult thing to get right was the water coming out of the tap as that image had a black background so I had to work very hard to get the water to look realistic. Check out my Work In Progress

  • Wild horses in Utah cooling off in the watering hole. Each band takes their turn at the watering hole. As one band of horses finishes getting a drink and cooling off another band will move in. Usually the watering hole is where I find the most activity going on. If a band takes to long the other band will move in and this is where most of the fights break out.

  • The image was taken from a plane, that plane had the door removed. To say that it was scarey to photograph is an understatement. The worst thing is that I have an intense fear of heights. Strangely enough I could deal with it once I had the camera in front of my face…

  • I Turned the water dragon lizard that lives outside are house into a dragon with hand drawn by pencil wings scanned in to the computer, then I added colour to the wings. Then I put my wife on it with my sons 3 dollar toy sword. As well the harness is my belt and the Sattel is my sister and laws. The back ground is the desert in Arizona. Five photos and one drawing and photoshop.

  • Wild horses in Utah. The weather is changing here, that means the horses come into the watering holes more often.

  • This is a dawn photo I took the other day (yes..the ‘sticks” are back!!) and having fun adding the flood filter again…

  • Dawn at Jan Juc Beach, on the Great Ocean Road.

  • A planned and never completed community in Salton City. They paved the roads and planted the trees and no one moved in…

  • Panic attacks are unexpected, isolated periods of intense anxiety, fear and distress that are associated with a range of somatic and cognitive symptoms. The onset of these episodes is usually sudden, and may have no apparent start. Although these episodes may appear accidental, they are considered to be a subset of an evolutionary comeback commonly referred to as fight or flight that happen out of context, flooding the body with hormones as particularly adrenalin, that aid in defending itself from harm. The panic attack is different from other forms of anxiety by its concentration and its unexpected, episodic nature. / Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is the term for an acute and continuing emotional reaction to an excessive psychological trauma. The latter may involve someone’s real death or a threat to the patient’s or someone else’s life, serious physical injury, or threat to physical and/or psychological uprightness. It is important to make a difference between PTSD and Traumatic stress, which is an alike condition, but of less intensity and length. Hysteria was also related to “traumatic reminiscences” a century ago. At that time, Sigmund Freud’s pupil, Kardiner, was the first to portray what later became known as symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder. Stress is often defined as the reaction to a situation that threatens the balance or homeostasis of a system.

  • Across the top end of my country and on into its heartland the earth has been fractured and torn by immense forces we cannot understand. Some of these scars of violence are now massive gorge systems, filled with waterfalls, rivers and sometimes a lonely, isolated rockhole. / Life flourishes in such places, little Edens surviving in a landscape so hostile to man that it seems like the surface of another planet. / But it is my planet / My country / My heart 60×60 cm / Acrylic, charcoal and inks on stretched canvas / Original is with a very good home :)

  • The Garden of Eden comes alive with remarkable amounts of water producing waterfalls only seen a handful of times a year. Kings Canyon, Watarrka National park / Northern Territory / Australia

  • A few miles passed Tortilla Flats, which is outside of Apache Junction, Arizona, this wonderful little oasis pops into view, part of Salt River. Although it is nearly Christmas, the vibrant yellow foliage remains. / Shot with Olympus Stylus 720SW auto, handheld.

  • The Lanner Falcon is a native of all of Africa and the southern parts of Italy, Sicily, Greece and Asia Minor. / It is essentially a bird of mountainous terrain except in Africa, where it can also be found in savannahs, plains and deserts. The Lanner Falcon is a fast-flying bird and is well designed for catching birds up to the size of a Guinea Fowl, and bats, especially the larger fruit bats. / When prey of this kind is scarce, ground living mammals and lizards are taken. It will also gorge on locusts and flying termites when they are swarming. The Lanner Falcon has a shrill, piercing, almost screaming voice, similar in content to that of the Peregerine Falcon, but somewhat higher pitched. Much, but not all of the Lanner Falcon’s prey is taken in the air, when the falcon descends to its prey and binds to it with a smack which can be heard some way off. It then carries it off. / Occasionally it will strike its prey in the air and allow it to drop to the ground, collecting it there, but this is less frequent behaviour. / When defending its nesting territory, it will often stoop with tremendous force at an animal it cannot hope to kill, which seems to be, nonetheless, an effective deterrent.

  • The wild horses running for the water hole. When the horses start running like this they only have one thing on their mind…...WATER! As soon as I seen they were starting to run off I knew right where they were headed. I made it back to my truck and headed off to the watering hole. I had to get around the mountain to get there, and they were going through the mountain. So it was race to see if I could get there in time. When I made it to the watering hole the first band had already been and was headed back. The second band was on their way in. They all came in and got their drinks. Just as fast as they had come in they were heading out.
