Fiery red sunrises have often been a feature and a great experience of camping at Batton Hill in the North Simpson Desert. The black silhoutted trees and messe form a strong contrast against the fiery red sky
This was one of the most awesome sunsets I have stood around for – way out in the interior. The tree was so arresting in silhouette and the light was pooling more and more intensely. It was actually raining slightly. / And I was getting nibbled at by turtles in the water as I clicked away over that magic hour.
Red Rock National Park, California / Just a few minutes drive from my home. I’m glad I got this shot when I did. Since this shot, a large portion of the colorful rock has collapsed. It’s slowly deteriorating.
This is my 1st card to sell, November 11, 2007! BIG THANX to Michael! Please look @ his work / Here Taken @ the ‘07 Illinois State Fair.
It was tough to keep my shadow out of this shot!
Picture yourself in this surreal getaway, swinging comfortably in a hammock between the towering palms. Your own personal hideout to take a break from reality. Then you suddenly wakeup drenched in perspiration in the sweltering heat and realize it’s 125F outside…because these beautiful palms are located in Death Valley!
Shot of Castle Rock through the trees in Red Rock State Park, Sedona, Arizona. Canon 20D & 28-135 IS USM.
Joshua Tree National Park, California. This huge rock has been hollowed out by erosion and has two holes through it. Native Americans left many petroglyphs inside.
This is an acrylic painting 11” x 14” on cold pressed watercolour paper of Ayres Rock from a distance. Uluru, (Ayres Rock) stands proud in the middle of the Australian Desert with its brilliant red earth. The rock dates back 500 million years. The Australian landscape is such an inspiration. The natural Desert Red sand against the striking Blue sky is amazing Alone in the desert it stands proud and tall / Even from a distance you can hear its call. / Ruler of the sands, ruler of the skies / a sight to behold one of a kind. / ! / FEATURED IN: AUSSIE BUSH PAINTINGS / OUTBACK AUSTRALIA / CREATIVE CARDS

Sedona, Arizona, USA 2008 Was so focussed on getting to this river before sunset , such a rushed hiked that I lost my bearings on the return trip and nearly spent the night out here !! Was rather daunting but incredibly beautiful nonetheless. I now make sure I have plenty of time either way, perhaps I should invest in a compass and a star chart LOL
Virginia City, Nevada Yashica Mat 124G and Tmax 100 film
There’s a place I love to play…a place so bizarre…where giant trees grow in holes, the size of buildings, bored into the rock. How these holes are formed is such a mystery to me. No cliffs above them, no walls surrounding them…just gently rolling mounds of sandstone.
The immense sand dune towers over the lone tree. / These are the biggest sand dunes in the world, Sossusvlei, Namibia. / Shot soon after Dawn. / Shot on a Canon EOS20D with Hoya Polariser attached.
