Lianne / wrote an amazing poem about the desert Desert Wanderings Are the rare oases enough to / sustain the desert nomad? / And where is the desert boundary – / would the journeyman perceive / its end, or like me, see Canaan / and think it only temporary respite – / can he see beauty where I see none, / sculpture where I see sand – / has he more praise for palm trees / than I for all of Canaan’s promise? Deserts are but dry expanses of the mind / the hypochondria boredom breeds, / unirrigated months, parched and barren / where there is naught to slake one’s thirst / and coolness only stones beneath one’s tongue, / monotonous thoughtscapes, uninspired / wishing for rivers, never neared mirages / and longings so undefined / that even prayer is sterile. What happens to dreams that die? / Are they reborn in other minds / nourished in more fertile ground – / do the sands that cover them / windshift / reviving them again, or are they / preserved, like dried straw flowers, / still rich in color / but sapless, too fragile now to grow?

The talented Sally Omar / got inspired by This work and wrote this Poem to go with this Image , Thank you my friend. / —-—-—-—-—-— / YES MASTER Thank you for letting me sit for a while / We have walked many miles / I am tired and I have a heavy load / Traveling so far on this sandy road / See my Master I am shedding tears / Doing this for too many years / We have traveled this lonesome place / With sweat dripping down your face / Can we not find something else to do / This is alot of work for me and you / Perhaps we can take a trip / I hear that there are ships / Do they allow Camels inside / Or do you think I must hide / You are a good Master I must say / For allowing me to sit this way / When you speak I understand / And you always give me a hand / I know that you are tired too / Sorry I can’t sing a song for you / It’s really hot and I feel I can’t breathe / When you get up I’ll follow your lead / I guess it’s time to be on our way / We’ll be walking for several days / Now when you are tired sit on my back / I will keep us on the right track / Then again when we’ve walked more miles / Let’s sit down and talk awhile.

This is the 3rd shot from today’s series of photos from the local grave yard.. I had heard recently that grave yards make a great subject for IR photography, and I personally think I have to agree as I believe that this is my best IR shot so far.. / The cross that you can see behind the headstone in the middle of the shot is the cross that I used as the subject for my So Dark The Con Of Man shot.. / Anyway let me know what you all think and i hope you like it all as much as i do.. Bodie Ghost Town in the Seirra Nevada Mountains in Eastern California. This 1800’s Gold town once had a thriving population of 10,000 people. It was a true wild western town with gun fights, saloons and a huge redlight district.

The world is about to end because of global warming. Temperatures are soaring, ice is melting, glaciers are retreating, seas are rising, and we’re all going to fry. We’re all up to here with worry about it. The Royal Society says there’s no longer any room for scientific doubt about it. Britain’s Chief Scientist says it’s a bigger threat than global terrorism. / Every global warming sceptic is denounced as clinically insane. Every developed nation wags its finger at every other (well, ok then, at America) and tells it to Emit Less. Every politician and B-list celebrity now anxiously measures his or her carbon footprint. Every British schoolchild is now drilled to believe that man-made global warming is a Fact along with poverty and the existence of Belgium. These refugee’s were traveling to Chad via Niger and stopped near our rig site to make repairs to their truck. After giving them water food and milk for the women, babies and children, they were gracious enough to let me take some shots. They still had 1000km to travel at this point…......Life is sometimes very cruel! The road to Timna Valley Park , South of Israel, 30 km north to Red Sea From WIKI : The Park is noted for its natural sandstone formations, including King Solomon’s Pillars, the “Mushroom”, “Arches” and “the Sleeping Lion”. It includes what are believed to be the oldest Copper mines in the world, dating back to at least 4000 BC and worked almost continuously by (among others) the Egyptians, Romans, Nabateans and Ummayads. / markers to Timna Park Rock carvings, including “the Chariots”, and ancient inscriptions are visible as well as mining shafts, the remains of ancient copper furnaces and a temple dedicated to the Egyptian goddess Hathor.
