this image started life as a pencil sketch and evolved from there. The Double-mouthed sailtail generously tows his companion, Blockhead, across the Atlip desert. Blockhead shields Gorff from the watchful eye of the ever hungry Zylap. Their trusty, but aging pumpkin droid, brings up the rear.

Original oil and acrylic painting. When I first moved to the desert, I had a hard time changing my colors to fit the hot dry red, oranges, yellows and all the colors that were not part of my paintings while I lived in Colorado for so many years. / I found this artist in a magazine, that expressed just what I wanted to learn so I taped a picture of that style of work up in my studio and the rest they say is history. / I wish I could remember the artist, but their work helped me so much in seeing the colors in my new home…this in one of the results of the study. / Thank You for viewing my art. Desert plant life has appealed to me for a long time. The different varieties of cactus, agave and yucca all have such interesting and unique shapes and are some of my favorites to paint. I found this agave near Old Town in Albuquerque.

Driving along a back road, I saw this strong adobe wall with this grand entrance. The sky was exceptionally blue and the Purple Sage and Spanish Broom were in full bloom everywhere. So, I couldn’t resist adding those into the painting, reminding me of what a beautiful spring it was. This is an original acrylic painting on canvas and it measures 20”h x 24”w. It is professionally framed in a rustic off-white wood frame from the Larsen-Juhl “Windswept” series. It is available for sale.

acrylic paining on canvas (with glitter) 40’’ x 40’‘ It’s probably a bit boring because it’s not finished yet but I am not a painter really either… I will finish it, when I find some patience.

A pastel painting of one on the sculptures in the sculture park called the living desert out from Broken Hill. This was from a very qiick drawing I did as the sun was setting on a red coloured sky reflecting onto the vast plains turning everything red, there was still a lot of red smoke around from the bush fires,As a balmy breeze gently drifted through the beautiful scene, a piper played some beautiful Scottish laments, then the plane appeared glinting silver with a sliver vapour trail behind.Magical.
