Whilst competing in a Rogaine in SW Western Australia my mate and I stumbled upon a deserted farmhouse and out buildings. Because we were camping overnight in roughly the same area I managed to get back the next morning to get a few shots. I only hope I can find my way back there as there are lots of shots to be made.

The world is about to end because of global warming. Temperatures are soaring, ice is melting, glaciers are retreating, seas are rising, and we’re all going to fry. We’re all up to here with worry about it. The Royal Society says there’s no longer any room for scientific doubt about it. Britain’s Chief Scientist says it’s a bigger threat than global terrorism. / Every global warming sceptic is denounced as clinically insane. Every developed nation wags its finger at every other (well, ok then, at America) and tells it to Emit Less. Every politician and B-list celebrity now anxiously measures his or her carbon footprint. Every British schoolchild is now drilled to believe that man-made global warming is a Fact along with poverty and the existence of Belgium. It’s a wonder any of us has any incentive to get up in the morning. :) Online Galleries: / Surrealism art prints / 2d3d graphic design software / 3ds models max software

Took a drive out to a little desert community last weekend. Checked out the little town of Searchlight. Found this old gold mine visible from Highway 95. Searchlight has a most interesting and intriguing history that includes many famous names: Clara Bow, Rex Bell, Edith Head, Louis Meyer, LT William Nellis, U.S. Senator Harry Reid, John Macready, James Cashman, and an endless list of colorful and fascinating characters that are fodder for the legends of the old west. Scott Joplin, who never lived in Searchlight, was so intrigued by the stories of his composer friend, Tom Turpin – who had spent time in Searchlight in his youth – that he composed the Searchlight Rag. Initial discoveries of predominately gold ore were first made at this location on May 6, 1897. G. F. Colton filed the first claim, later to become the Duplex Mine. This historic and picturesque mining town sits just fourteen miles up the hill from beautiful Cottonwood Cove on Lake Mohave. Tell the truth … did you know there was a breathtaking, clear lake out in the middle of the desert between Las Vegas and Laughlin? In fact, did you know the Colorado River forms this lake? Hmmmm… I didn’t think you did. Searchlight, Nevada / _____ Searchlight is a census-desginated place (CDP) in Clark County, Nevada, USA. The population was 576 at the 2000, and was estimated by the Clark County Comprehensive Planning Department to have a population of 780 as of July 1, 2006. Searchlight was an important gold mining town of southern Nevada in the early part of the 20th century, but the mines exhausted after only a few years excavation. It is marked as Nevada Historical Marker. The town sits one hour from downtown Las Vegas. / From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Images Do Not Belong To The Public Domain. Some things you can hardly believe when you see them. I went to school as a structural engineer, and I have to say I’m amazed this house is standing. I went to some pains to make sure the image is vertical, and it’s definitely pretty close. So yes, that lamppost on the left really is leaning like that. This is just a scene captured while on the back streets of Nallihan in central Anatolia. Sometimes I feel like every door I see has a story behind it worth telling. If you look closely there’s a padlock keeping this one shut. What we’ll probably never know is … why?

I saw this old farm house on one of many trips through the Sanford N.C area. For some reason this old house spoke to me. I am far from being good at any editing program but I thought I would see what I could do.For some reason a spooky house on Halloween was what I saw and here it is. To update this shot..on my last trip through the area my old house was gone.It was for sale and empty when I stopped to get this photo. It appeared that it was a family farm at one time, this house many barns and lots of land. The land around the house was partial wooded. The land/house was sold and now its all gone, house, barns and trees. I guess thats why this house was talking to me it knew its time was limited. This old house could have been restored and been a beautiful place. But like everything else these days it was destoryed to make room for something new, shiny, bigger and better…..sad.
