A little spicey morsel for the Halloween season… “Día de los Muertos” is Spanish for “The Day of the Dead”. It’s a Mexican holiday that occurs on November 1 (All Saints’ Day) and November 2 (All Souls’ Day). It celebrates and honoris the lives of the deceased, and the continuation of life; the belief is not that death is the end, but rather the beginning of a new stage in life.

Inspired by the book “The little Prince” No,I didn’t start painting but one of my friend realy influenced me for that macro picture of an icestick .The icestick was frosted on the rocs in the woods, the reason for those beautiful colors.I just add a bit of saturation to put up the beautiful blue because I think it’s his favorite color. / For my bubbler’s friend Nigel.. Kafka a man who loves «Le petit Prince» as much as I do…..... / «It is only with the heart that one can see rightly;what is essential is invisible to the eyes» / Antoine de Saint-Exupéry….. I see in that icestick a the little boy with a long white shirt ,the arms reaching to the sky with his head falling back, his legs are beginning to vanish….you know that moment when the snake bite him and went back to his planet …I clearly see the blue snake at his feet ….I know I know ...I have a lot of imagination but I realy see it …. :)))) .......Please take a look at Kafka’s work ,he a fantastic painter …x / / /

Fuchsia is a genus of flowering plants, mostly shrubs, and can grow long shoots, which were identified by Charles Plumier in the late-17th century, and named by Plumier in 1703 after the German botanist Leonhart Fuchs (1501–1566). The English name fuchsias is frequently misspelled “fuschias”. / There are about 100–110 species of Fuchsia. The great majority are native to South America, but with a few occurring north through Central America to Mexico, and also several from New Zealand, and Tahiti. One species, Fuchsia magellanica, extends as far as the southern tip of South America, occurring on Tierra del Fuego in the cool temperate zone, but the majority are tropical or subtropical. Most fuchsias are shrubs from 0.2–4 m (8 in-13 ft) tall, but one New Zealand species, Kotukutuku (Fuchsia excorticata), is unusual in the genus in being a tree, growing up to 12–15 m (39-49 ft) tall. / ~Wikipedia Panasonic FZ20
This is La Courtine, one of the most beautiful cliff I’ve ever seen. La Courtine is part of the amazing rocky coast around Etretat in Upper Normandy, France, altogether known as Les Failases d’Etretat. I took this picture last August, on a very windy – as usual over there – late afternoon. / I wanted to have the sea looking as much smooth as possible, but I was in full daylight, as it was around 19:30 hours. Even with the overcasted sky, and even full stopping down the lens, the exposure time was only 1/2 seconds, a too fast time to move the sea surface. Using a polarizer and a 8x ND filter I gained 5 more stops, obtaining therefore, with a slight over-exposure, 20 secs of exposure time. Finally, I used a graduated filter to darken the sky, while keeping a correct exposure on the cliffs and the sea. / This allowed me to give the sea surface a watercolour paint look, and I also obtained a slight movement in the clouds, thanks to the strong wind. I hope you enjoy it, thanks for dropping by. / Paolo

83 year old pilot conducting some pre-flight checks in the de Havilland DHC-1 Chipmunk, while his wingman ensures the radio is set properly. These are the types of shot I just wished I would take more of. I am beginning to see the value of the human aspect of photography. Taken with Nikon D200, Nikkor 24-120mm lens, post-processed with ReDynaMix for slight HDR effect, Dodge and Burnt in CS3, and final Digital Lightroom edits. Check out this slideshow I created from that day This image is currently on display at the Walls Fine Art gallery in Downtown Norfolk, VA.
