sit inside my eyes now you’re the only thing I see / I thought I found you walking in circles around my heart / came up with questions that lost all their progress / don’t want to lose this and fall back to the start all I can do was to see this / inside your soul I could see so far / head to your heart and you’re breathing / the only sound that i couldn’t be apart I never wondered if you were just guessing at love / would you believe it that i only need this forever / words that would haunt you, words like I miss you / figure the angles that give me direction to your heart all I can do was to see this / inside your soul I could see so far / head to your heart and you’re breathing / the only sound that i couldn’t be apart -me
A beautiful morning unfortunatly due to a dead battery in my landrover and our other car having all its locks frozen I missed most of it and only manged a couple of images. As the morning colour was allready fading fast when I arrived at this location.
A view looking back to Cat bells.
Went out with fellow bubbler David Parkin to the Lakes today, what a smashing bloke he is !! / Any way we had a ball in the sunshine and beautiful surroundings even if i did get lost once or lots of times !!!

Taken at sunrise on a very icy morning, it was a full time job just trying to keep my filter clear. The hill is Cat Bell’s probably the most popular hiking hill in the lake district you can usually see the procession of people walking to the summit on most days, but not today at fist light!!!!. / The Island is Derwent island and has a long history, in Elizabethan times(1500) it was occupied by the German miners who lived there for there own safety I think the local land owners were none to happy about the Queen and these mining companies taking all there precious minerals. / In 1770 Joseph Pocklington purchased Derwent Island for £300, known as King Pocky he built the boat house you can see in the shape of a nonconformist chapel with bell tower, there is also a large house in the centre of the island but it obscured from view by the trees. He got his nick name for organising mock battles on the lake.
please take this thing of chance for you can’t deny it / they’re watching from above / speak like your next to me jumping into motion / is harder than it seems / dreams falling of your bed, you can not remember / so I can’t understand / breathe, i feel your breath in me now I know it’s real / now I’ll hold you inside come to be alone inside we can still hide / the motion of the world wont be our demise / half a world don’t seem so far / when you breathe inside my heart sounds that live inside the dark they cry out from afar / you never want to answer / cold, the air is growing thin so please come quick / but don’t get caught in time / don’t stand there all alone where I can’t see you / please open up your hand / now I’m finding my way home to you I surely stride / and warmth inside your eyes come to be alone inside we can still hide / the motion of the world wont be our demise / half a world don’t seem so far / when you breathe inside my heart -me
opened my eyes in a different way / I’m happy you saw me changing today / watching you watch the rain fall softly / it dampens your mood so please let me be / try to disguise that side of you and / you’re hoping you wont see it too / the night wants to let you go this time / and promise the stars you’ll be back again you walked towards the closing never / and you lived in maybe / now we’re always and forever / and we know this baby ancient sounds can’t harm you now my eyes / tell you that I’ve traveled so far / words pass away so you figured a way to draw / circles, we’re points to connect one day / if you would cry I’d feel your tears run down / my cheek, you’re hearts inside mine / your heart pulls me in and we’re soon to begin / half a world is getting closer each day you walked towards the closing never / and you lived in maybe / now we’re always and forever / and we know this baby -me photo on the Derwent River Hobart
My seond attempt at this place, the first time was a sunrise session with a lovley cloud inversion. I thought that it might work better at sunset with the sun setting in the West.
Come out come out no use in hiding / Come now come now can you not see? / There’s no place here what were you expecting / Not room for both just room for me So you will lay your arms down / Yes I will call this home Away away you have been banished / Your land is gone and given me And here I will spread my wings / Yes I will call this home What’s this you say / You feel a right to remain / Then stay and I will bury you / What’s that you say / Your father’s spirit still lives in this place / I will silence you Here’s the hitch your horse is leaving / Don’t miss your boat It’s leaving now And as you go I will spread my wings / Yes I will call this home / I have no time to justify to you / Fool you’re blind, move aside for me / All I can say to you my new neighbor / Is you must move on or I will bury you Now as I rest my feet by this fire / Those hands once warmed here / I have retired them / I can breathe my own air / I can sleep more soundly / Upon these poor souls / I’ll build heaven and call it home ‘Cause you’re all dead now / I live with my justice / I live with my greedy need / I live with no mercy / I live with my frenzied feeding / I live with my hatred / I live with my jealousy / I live with the notion / That I don’t need anyone but me / Don’t drink the water / Don’t drink the water / There’s blood in the water / Don’t drink the water / There’s blood in the water A song by Dave Matthews about the injustice of the native American Indians, but could have been written about the Australian Aborigional people and their injustices. This shot was taken from a place where they once roamed freely.
Sometimes, just sometimes reality can exceed all your expectations. The day had been a complete washout with a horrendous storm that seemed to go on forever. Then, just before sunset the storm broke to create one of the most colourful and amazing sunsets I have ever seen. Turned out I was in a great locations as well. Shot on the banks of Derwent Water near Keswick in the English Lake District. Finalist in the Landscape Photographer of the Year 2007
Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20 lens at 10mm, F16, shutter speed 0.5 second, ISO100, processed in Photoshop I took this shot around dawn in February this year when we had several weeks of very cold weather, it was a wonderfully peaceful start to the day. Derwent water is in the foreground, the hills reflected in the water are called the catbells. Catbells is a fell in the English Lake District in the county of Cumbria. It has a modest height of 451 metres (1,480 ft) but despite this it is one of the most popular fells in the area. It is situated on the western shore of Derwent Water within 3 miles (5 km) of the busy tourist town of Keswick. (Wikipedia) Please view large
Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20 lens at 10mm, F11, shutter speed 1 second, ISO100, processed in Photoshop I went to the Lake District yesterday to get some more photographs for my photography course project. The view is of Derwent water down towards Borrowdale, it was a beautiful day yesterday (11th Dec 2009). Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20 lens at 10mm, F11, shutter speed 1/160 second, ISO200, processed in Photoshop On Friday I had one of my best days in the Lake District ever, the dawn was amazing over Derwent water (I took too many photographs again!), I then walked up Catbells which is one of the fells to the west side of Derwent Water. I eventually reached the top of High Spy 653 m (2142 ft) before returning the way I went up. The highest hill in the far distance to the left is Skiddaw, Blencathra (the hill I climbed the other week in the snow) is the highest peak at the far right of the range of “Skiddaw” hills. Sorry for the lack of comments at the moment, I am finishing my first project for my photography course…I will be back on track after Monday night. Please view large
Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20 lens at 10mm, F11, shutter speed 2.5 seconds, ISO100, processed in Photoshop Last Friday in the Lake District was amazing, the stillness and reflections from Derwent water were amazing, my photographs really do not do justice to how magical it was. Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20 lens at 10mm, F11, shutter speed 1/15 second, ISO100, processed in Photoshop After I had finished paddling around in my wellington boots in Derwent water to get my previous shots I moved down the shoreline to this location to see beautiful early morning sun hit the amazing mountain of Skiddaw in the distance.
