    This little owl (the most common type of owl in our area) was rescued by a Raptor Center and ended up at the Cascade Raptor Center. They were unable to return her to the wild (due to an eye injury) and she remains as a permanent resident at the Cascade Raptor Center along with 60+ other birds of Prey. The Raptor center is involved in rescuing and returning hundreds of birds to the wild each year, including Eagles, Owls and Hawks. They are completely supported by the public. / 200% of all my earnings on RB go to help support these birds (I match 100% of all earnings). / Cascade Raptor Center

    This image was created from 5 images, each 2 stops apart from each other. It was merged into HDRI in Photomatix and also tonemapped in Photomatix. Final editing was done in Photoshop CS3.

  • The Fog

    At dawn, I walked out to take a picture of a very stunning sunrise. I watched as a heavy fog rolled in like a wave. I was taking images for HDRI, so I was snapping off images fast. Later when I went through the images, I was amazed how fast the fog came in. It had such an eerie feel to it.

    A rescued Arctic wolf, Willow had never seen grass before she came to the Refuge. She had previously been kept in a small cage with no room to run. She now has 48 acres of space. The normal range of an arctic wolf is 200 miles.
