  • “A mind, like a home, is furnished by its owner, so if one’s life is cold and bare he can blame none but himself.” Louis L’Amour (1908 – 1988) If you would like to purchase any of my art in a larger format, please contact me. Other works by Earthairfire:

  • This is exactly how it looked in 1989. The ivy stays here year round. It’s weird, because it’s barren outside; winter. But when you step inside (which isn’t hard..you simply step through the wall) it looks like a summer day. Very odd & surreal feeling. Taken last week, standing in the basement looking up at the back door. More from the abandoned farmhouse series soon. :) And Happy New Year everyone!! / It’s 8:37 p.m. here. I get the feeling I’m the last sober one around here.(not for long…ha.) / / >featured< / sold: 2 mounted prints (RB artists) / / More from this series: / / Welcome Home / Tattered And Torn / Wild Horses / Watch Your Step / I Remember You / / /

  • An old abandoned Farm house in Yorkshire, a place called Crow edge, not much left now, The person i went with today told me she used to play in here when she was a child, it was empty then!! such a shame, this really was a beautiful house, more pics to follow soon of the outside.

  • The remainder of a building, partially demolished stands right on the waters edge at an abandoned shipbuilding yard. What were once doors into rooms now lead to a drop where the side of a building has been removed. / / / Have a look through the rest of my portfolio to see more pictures from the abandoned buildings i visit. / / / Or you could view my current set where i explain the process and situations you bump into walking around and taking photos in derelicts, which can be found here / / /

  • I dont know what this place is called, i am trying to research it, i am going tomorrow to go inside and see, i have afeeling its some kind of health centre, should i say was!!

  • An old derelict house with vibrant blue painted door and window frame. Photographed using HDR.

  • The exterior of this old stately home is really quite grand, and i think made by the same architect as the Way to school building due to the presence of many similar features such as the plaque space above the door etc.

  • lucky i had Troy with me after stumbling upon this gorgeous bathtub entire bathtub portraiture series

  • and who wouldn’t want to curl up next to her

  • Remains of an old farmhouse, Currency Creek, South Australia.

  • This shot is of one of the bedrooms in the old farmhouse. This was a very creepy and surreal scene. Like the set of a SAW movie or something. / / Canon 400D / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / / THE TRAGIC HISTORY BEHIND THESE IMAGES / / The Room With The Broken Heart… by Arcadia Tempest. A poem about this tragic image. / / More In This Series / / / / / / / / / / / / / /

  • The Tragic History Behind These Shots / I just had to revisit the abandoned farmhouse where I shot the image The Tenant / / / / This is a view from the kitchen looking in from the outside… the windows are all beat out of the house and you cannot get to the kitchen from the inside because the floor is unstable and you’ll probably end up in the basement. So I had to improvise and go outside to get this shot. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / / More In This Series / / / / / / / / / / / / /

  • For the next month (from May 27th onwards) I’m asking people not to leave a comment on my work here. • Had a great adventure today – went for a drive to the forest for a ‘quick walk’ to take a few photos of the beautiful winter landscape – didn’t quite work out that way though!!! We ended up having to abandon the car in the forest car park as we couldn’t make it back up the frozen road to the top and the forest driveway that we had planned to return along was closed off with locked barriers – so ended up having to walk some extra 3 miles to the nearest village where we luckily caught the bus home! lol I’m sure someone suggested leaving the car at the top of the track and walking down …. still it was a fabulous day and have got some amazing shots in the forest to share! x This was taken along the road between Hamsterley Forest and Woodland Village on the walk back – must have been someone’s pride and joy once – and I’m sure those pigeon sheds would have held many a prize winning bird in their day.

  • ARCHITECTURE IS WHERE YOU FIND IT / Architecture is to do with the designing of buildings and structures, but in its broader meaning it also includes the design of our complete built environment. It can be found in outback areas, on mountain peaks, almost anywhere on the land, even on the sea in the form of oil rigs and it surrounds us in our places of abode. We tend to take it for granted and complain when its appeareance doesn’t suit our taste. Architecture provides us with shelter, places to work, gives us points of reference in our urban wilderness, but most important of all, it provides a fundamental basis for the way we live. Architecture is ephemeral, can be a thing of great beauty, and its elements can be pillaged and used as building blocks by successive generations. Past civilizations are often known through their achievements in architecture and certain works have become cultural, political and artistic icons. Presumably a family once lived in this little house at Fernie, British Columbia. It now stands derelict and isolated, yet it seems to exist as a monument to the toil of hard working rural people anywhere. The image was captured during summer 2008 towards the end of a photographic journey through the Canadian Rockies. Thanks for taking the time to view my photos and feel free to comment. You are welcome to visit my photography website My most recent publication ‘ARCHITECTURE WITH CHARACTER’ includes images of this rural house. Click on image below for a preview.

  • I found another abandoned farm house yesterday… everything was left as it was. There were still books in the bookcase and dishes in the cupboard. I am a little nervous on entering this one because it is REALLY deteriorated. / / / You never know what lurks in the shadows… / / Canon 400D w/ Canon 10-22mm lens / 3 shots (raw) / Photomatix / Lightroom & cs3 / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / / BEST VIEWED LARGER / / Click HERE for more of my Series on abandonment / / / / Click HERE for more of my Series on abandonment / / .
