Nyhavn – a popular area in Copenhagen, Denmark
Just another street in Copenhagen
Another misty morning all alone in the forest. This place is close to the sea, which makes good opportunities for misty shots. RAW capture, f/3.6, 1/50, aperture priority, spot metering, ISO 200, manual WB.
This was taken near the northern, rocky tip of the island of Bornholm at sunset.
Everything blooms here now. The chives are wonderfully coloured. / This mill has been restored. It’s never going to turn anymore, though. The usually swivelling top has been locked with solid timbers. This was taken near the northeastern corner of the Danish island of Bornholm. I’ve tried something different to me here – cool colours. / / Water / Beach Art / Architecture / Stones / Forests / Landscapes / /
You know, I can’t keep away from the stones on the beaches once in a while. These I caught a late summer evening. Water / Beach Art / Architecture / Stones / Forests / Landscapes / / / / /

Two days later, August 6th, the winds had calmed down a bit. Heavy squalss were passing by, though. When I got home after this, thunder and loads of rain hit us. But, the best time of year is approaching. Late August and September is usually the best time to shoot, as the air is most clear and clouds are passing by in the sky. One of the 20 blocks of identical mustard-colored houses, built by Christian IV in 17th century to house his naval staff. September 2007. Canon EOS 300X, Sigma 28-135. Kodak ProFoto 100. Post-processing: retouch, color enhancement.
Looking north along the west coast of Bornholm, this is what you’ll see. / This beach is my favourite when it comes to swimming and sunbathing. The sandy beach ends at the point in the background, from here the coast becomes rocky. This was taken just north of Rønne on the Danish island of Bornholm.
I tried something new today. I climbed the cliffs. Usually I’m on my knees down there between the stones. This is just south of Rønne, this beach is much more rocky than the one north of town. There are the groynes, if these weren’t there, there would be no beach here and the cliffs would be several meters inland. But just around the point the beach is even more rocky, and that’s where a lot of my rocky beach pictures were shot.
These nicely lit trees are standing on a barrow near the town of Svaneke on the north-east corner of Bornholm. Furthermore, the barrow is situated on a hill top, making it easy to have a clean sky as a background. Bornholm holds an exceptional position in Denmark when it comes to testimonials from the Bronze Age. Here, the biggest concentration of preserved barrows is found. Most of them near to the coast lines. Barrows like this were built in the older part of the Bronze Age (1700 – 1100 B.C.) of earth and turf around and above the dead person, who was laid fully dressed in a stone- or oak coffin. The barrows were often extended during later burials, which meant, that they could grow to considerable sizes. This one belongs to the bigger ones. The tombs were equipped with grave goods, which reflected the position of the dead in the society. / In the younger part of the Bronze Age, habits changed, and dead persons were burned. Urns with ashes from these dead persons may be found both in barrows like this, or in smaller ones made of stones. / / / / Bornholm / Architecture / Forests / Seascapes / Landscapes / Black’n’whites / /

I’ve been into black & whites lately. It all started with me borrowing a book about Lightroom from a fellow photographer here. I am amazed about this little program’s powers on B/W conversion work. By the way, the book is “The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Book” by Martin Evening. Highly recommended, now it’s out on version 2, which I’ve ordered from Amazon. Working with B&W’s in Lightroom is amazing. Almost takes me back to the happy days of film developing. And most suitable I had a series of shots from December 26th, at which time I was visiting my son and grandson north of Copenhagen. This day was a wonderful, foggy day. Funnily, days like this make me feel melancholic. In the good sense, that is, a very pleasing feeling. I don’t know why, though. / / Foggy Day Collection: / Black’n’whites / /

Elephant Rocks, Denmark, Western Australia I have been playing around with HDR for a while now with not much success, I’m still learning how to use the Tone Mapping controls with Photomatix. I think this one has come out looking alright, but would love to know what you all think, and what i can do to improve.
