Captured this image of some Mule Deer grazing on early Spring grass in a meadow in Yosemite National Park just as some light snow began to fall. They were about 15m away from me and I had sat down to get to its eye level while it was eating and to avoid startling them. As it turned out, they appeared to be quite used to humans and continued to graze as I snapped away. There were four deer that went by the entrance station I work at. I caught this one just as it passed by the window…Lynn

Now the weather has turned nasty and the snow is coming down in buckets. Food now has become scare for alot of animals in the Wastach Mountains Utah. So animals adventure down from the mountains to forage in the valley for food. We are fortunate every Winter to have in out backyard by the creek a family of Deer. This year we have been so far been visited twice by a female Mule deer and her very sweet fawn. Mum decided to stay hidden and the fawn being a little more adventuress stayed in the open under our Apple tree by the creek. There are a few remaining apples on the tree, thinking of adventuring down and pulling the rest off the tree for them. / Photo taken by Canon IXUS
Bragg creek residents out for a stroll on today’s frosty winter morning- we are lucky to have them coming through our yard throughout the year! Photographed through the trees with my Canon Rebel XT and 55-250 IS Canon Zoom lens. At first I didn’t like the blurred branches in the foreground, but the boy thinks they add to the magic of the image, so I guess I can roll with that!
