An early morning composition looking up Deepdale Valley between Patterdale and Brothers Water in the English Lake District. The white building in the distance is Deepdale Hall, a working hill farm as well as a popular guest house nestling in the shelter of the hills. As I arrived it was so peaceful and quiet, only birdsong and bleating of the sheep on the hill farm breaking absolute silence. Nikon D100 / 18 – 70 zoom @ 46mm / F9 for 1/100 sec / CP Filter

This waterfall is on Deepdale Beck in Teesdale, County Durham. It is not easy to get to; it is about one mile from the nearest road and the nearest public right of way stops about half a mile upstream.

The Splash
by SidahoSir Tom Finney, OBE is famous for his loyalty to his league club, Preston North End, and for his performances in the English national side. On 31 July 2004, Sir Tom Finney unveiled the water feature sculpture "The Splash" which stands outside The National Football Museum at Preston North End’s Deepdale Stadium. The sculpture was inspired by the 1956 Sports Photograph of the Year which features Tom Finney beating two defenders at a waterlogged Stamford Bridge.

Small waterfall on Deepdale Beck below Green How on the Southern flanks of Lartington High Moor. About half a mile upstream of the ford, pennine way footbridge and new shooting hut. / County Durham

The Pennine Way crosses this footbridge before winding its way up the fellside. It follows the wall to Race Yate before dropping into Baldersdale at Clove Lodge.

This is a waterfall in Deepdale – the Yorkshire one, not the one in Cumbria, nor the one that Preston North End play football in! As far as I can tell, according to the map, this waterfall doesn’t appear to have a name. If it doesn’t, then I’ll give it one myself :) / nb as this was an 8 second exposure, the wind caused the leaves of the tree to blur a little.

These small, but pretty falls are where Deepdale Beck flows under Crag Bridge which carries the moorland road from Cotherstone to Bowes. / Teesdale, County Durham.
