The beauty of the late twilight sky drew me outside for a completely spontaneous photo shoot.

The Tibetan word Bardo means literally “intermediate state” – also translated as “transitional state” or “in-between state” or “liminal state”. / There are six traditional bardo states known as the Six Bardos: the Bardo of This Life, the Bardo of Meditation, the Bardo of Dream, the Bardo of Dying, the Bardo of Dharmata (Reality) and the Bardo of Existence. I’ve long been fascinated by the concept of the various bardos and this image has a dream bardo kind of feel for me. Many thanks to bodhiimages / for the use of his beautiful poem / bardo/song for the dead to be at peace, in this heart of hearts / even when one, so precious, departs / seeing the truth, neither here nor there / trusting this life, so unique, so rare / everything changes, in the blink of an eye / knowing the mind is as vast as the sky / clouds may come and rain may fall / and strings of the heart will always call / let them play their sweet songs of joy / a melody so pure, no thought could destroy / be at one and look within, remain peacefully aware / of everything and everyone, let love shine / everywhere. © tim buckley | bodhi images Featured in the groups Tunnel Vision / The Art of Intrigue & / Nirvana

Met the wonderful Deepbluwater in LA, and not only did she organize this whole shoot in my, ‘dream home’ as far as interior design goes, but also modeled for me in the most perfect of ways. Huge thank you for making this concept come alive in such a perfectly designed environment and for such an amazing day! Heartfelt thanks!
Many thanks to the ever brilliant & generous Paul for adding his magic touch to this image. Placed 3rd in the Staged Photography Challenge in the group The Woman Photographer, October 09.

It’s been so hot lately!!! I’m relatively new to portraits, especially self portraits, -close-ups in particular. In posting this image I’m attempting to find a deeper level of self acceptance by embracing what is. In this case, it is hot and this is me, imperfectly me, outside trying to catch a breeze. Many heartfelt thanks to those of you who have been so supportive & encouraging toward me and my artistic journey. / It means the world to me and my gratitude knows no end! September 2009.

…and weightlessness. I’ve been pondering these opposing yet complementary forces lately, looking at their effects on our minds, bodies and spirits while experimenting with capturing movement. I especially like the way the early evening half moon shines brightly through the figure in this one. Thank you for visiting… Featured in The Woman Photographer Featured in Beauty of the Human Body
I was sitting outside having lunch with friends near the coast a few weeks ago when this misty fog moved in quickly from the ocean, giving familiar scenes a beautiful and other-worldly appearance. / I love palm trees and I love signage so this one brings a smile to my face!
