Dedicated to my father who passed away 9/15/08. Ephemeral: Lasting only one day. Lasting a very short time. I created this using various old images I had laying around and played with it in Photoshop. I almost feel like I should have a poem written for this piece, but alas, i am not a writer! This piece was featured in PixElations-The Art of Photography, The Graphic Room-Graphic and Digital Art and the Live, Love, Dream group as the Top Feature Piece of the Day – 9/5/08. This door detail was photographed in Avanos, a small town in the Cappadocia region of central Turkey. The bright colors and old wood of houses and doors in these small towns are often beautiful and always intriguing. The splintered wood, tooled brass lock and handle, and encroaching shadow give this piece a sense of mystery for me.

Fishermen at the Silvrettasee (Silvretta Lake), Silvretta, Austrian Alps. / After a day-long hiking through the Silvretta mountains, I was deeply impressed by the peaceful mood and green-grey beauty of the Silvretta Lake. Ice-cold waters rushing from the glaciers of Piz Buin and its neighbours created an amazing abstract form of the lake shore.
