The Matterhorn in Zermatt was and still is a major accomplishment for mountaineers worldwide. As with any serious mountain peak, weather can be extremely unpredictable and volatile presenting climbers with tough decisions which can endanger lives in the challenge. This window was broken by 40km/hr winds the day before the shot was taken!

Watching what a person can do and not criticizing them for what they can’t, looking at the world with your very own open eyes and not the same eyes as everyone else, can be an enlightening, awesome, uplifting experience. Judged and juried events can take a toll on a child or a young teen and even break the spirit of an adult. The world loses talent on a daily basis because of such opinions. I have seen so many people give up, on sports, art, and unfortunately, life, because of something a judge, coach, teacher ,peer, and even parent, has said to them. There are no molds in life, why do we keep on trying to make people fit into one? We all need to enjoy our own uniqueness, and the unique qualities of others. Everyone has talents, although some may not be as obvious as others, and a little reassurance can go a long way. Everybody is special and everyone is a winner even if they are not the ones that win. Nobody has a right to judge and everyone’s opinion matters. We all need to take the time to look at the whole picture, the developing part, the hidden part and the wonderful parts that are yet to come. Stand is a very inspirational song. Anyone having a tough time or dealing with life’s setbacks needs to listen to it …it helps the girl shown in this image. I know because she is my wonderful,beautiful, daughter!
