Abandoned couch in Northcote.
Old deserted Irish Farm. Very overgrown with major decay having set in. This has an old glass plate photographic effect.
I found this old piano in an abandoned church. It’s a haunting echo of music played, songs sung, and dances danced.

This is Thornseat Lodge, a derelict house in Derbyshire, originally a Gamekeepers house, then in 1934 was turned into an orphange and was stopped being used in the late 80’s, now it is just falling apart, such a waste
Spotted this old Series3 Land Rover whilst out on a shoot today, dont think its moved in a while!, perfectly restorable though!!
An old abandoned Farm house in Yorkshire, a place called Crow edge, not much left now, The person i went with today told me she used to play in here when she was a child, it was empty then!! such a shame, this really was a beautiful house, more pics to follow soon of the outside.
Bodie Ghost Town in the Seirra Nevada Mountains in Eastern California. This 1800’s Gold town once had a thriving population of 10,000 people. It was a true wild western town with gun fights, saloons and a huge redlight district.
The exterior of this old stately home is really quite grand, and i think made by the same architect as the Way to school building due to the presence of many similar features such as the plaque space above the door etc.

I’m thrilled and honored and humbled to report that “Industrial Decay” has been nominated for entry into the prestigious group Pay It Forward by the darling, beautiful and talented Sandy - budrfli who had this to say about my image: / “Not only is her art exemplary, but her attitude and joy is inspiring and full of excited joy! Everything she enters and every comment she writes makes me smile!” Thank you Pay It Forward group, and thank you dear Sandy-budrfli!!!!! I discovered this beauty on a side road, not far from Claysburg, PA. I don’t know what it was or what it manufactured. All around this area are lovely large farm homes … also in a state of sad decay. Image taken December 28, 2008 with the Nikon D40x, and my new 18-200mm VR (YAY!) with the CP filter. I did some work on the sky (which was nasty white) to give it more of a moody appearance, gave it the old Orton, then added a dry brush layer. A post script: Thanks to DDebil , I’m hearing that this structure is in all likelihood a feed mill where corn would be ground and molasses and other nutrients added to make feed for the hogs. Considering all of the large farms in the immediate area, this makes perfect sense!! Thank you, DDebil!!!

This State Hospital was established in its present location in 1901 as a farm colony for “chronic insane patients”. By 1945 the number of patients had risen to 1,730, with a total staff of 250 with 241 vacancies. By this time the institution had grown to 1,200 acres with buildings scattered widely over an area covering three towns. After 72 years of operation the Hospital was closed in 1973 as the first of a series of institutions to close in its state. The campus is now occupied by a University , a Job Corps Program, and various state agencies. Most structures have been renovated and altered for re-use, some have been demolished. A graveyard remains on a nearby hilltop with 1,041 numbered, nameless graves of persons who died in this institution. A handwritten list of their names survives in various archives.

The house sits like her heart… Empty, once full of love and life, now the halls echo with the laughter..the joy of their love, Memories of happiness are all she has. He left for work that day with a kiss to her lips, a “I love you” on his way out the door, she waved to him out the window and blew him a kiss..if she only knew that would be the last time she tasted his kiss, felt his touch, she would never have let him go..The only relief out of all this pain and heartache is he didn’t suffer, when the truck hit his car head on, he died instantly. Now she waits, unable to leave their home, not wanting to go on, knowing that he waits for her..she prays for “HER” life after death, to be in his arms again, to feel his kiss, his touch, to make this house their home for eternity, the way it should have been..but again she wakes to the emptiness of the halls, the emptiness of their bed and of her heart..she goes to the window and like a movie played over and over agiain she sees him getting into his car..she pounds on the window..yells for him to STOP!!!..to COME BACK!!!...and like every day he pulls away and disappears into thin air…leaving her again.to her pain, and their empty house. Another abandoned house, Loved the blue color of this place. Nikon D90 / 18-200 mm VR lens
