  • Skeleton of a desert tortoise shell and bush. Photo based mixed medium image.

  • A beautiful little statue that, tragically, stands above a child’s grave in my local cemetery.

  • I took this close-up of Jesus on the cross which was in a very old cemetery and then when I saw these words on a church marquee, “Jesus built a bridge with two boards and three nails,” I added them to the photo. Something to really meditate about!

  • Antique hand carved Christo hanging in a church in Santa Fe, New Mexico. /

  • Death is the end of the life of a biological organism. Death may refer to the end of life as either an event or condition. Many factors can cause or contribute to an organism’s death, including predation, disease, habitat destruction, senescence, malnutrition and accidents or physical injury. The principal causes of human death in developed countries are diseases related to aging.

  • Deep thoughts done in photoshop some times we fence ourselfs in to a certain world…. ruled by our own beliefs and morals…not allowing ourselfs to do or become what we truely wish to be.

  • Odin (Old Norse Óðinn) is considered the chief god in Norse mythology and Norse paganism, like the Anglo-Saxon Woden it is descended from Proto-Germanic *Wōđinaz or *Wōđanaz. His name is related to óðr, meaning “mind”, “excitation,” “fury” or “poetry,” and his role, like many of the Norse pantheon, is complex: he is a god of wisdom, war, battle and death. He is also attested as being a god of magic, poetry, prophecy, victory and the hunt. This one was a real blast to draw Originally done as a pencil sketch on A3 cartridge paper, I then scanned it into the ol’ PC and painted it up 100% in photoshop.

  • OIL PAINTING ON PART OF AN OLD CRATE / Image Copyright © 2008 JANE À PARIS I was really ill and upset one day, so I painted her quickly on part of an old crate. A friend of mine liked her, so I gave the painting to her. I actually think she turned out kind of neat too, for something that I painted rather rapidly and a little sloppily. At least I feel I did a good job conveying my emotions… Being stuck in wood, refers to the fact that they, my oppressors refer to my body as wood; which can be cut, chopped, burned, screwed, glued, manipulated, sawed, molded, chewed on, finely finished, and etc… In other words, they use physical pain and torture as a means to punish me in life and control my life, and my life’s events, or at least they try to. I have been like this for thirteen years, so I guess they are not very sucessful, at least at finishing what they have started…and I did this in just a few hours. Ha! SET ME FREE

  • Where will you end up? Haha. Started out as a doodle in a notebook, and then I decided it would make a good, more masculine T. Hope you like it! :)

  • Cemetary – St. Stephen’s Church, Old Chelsea, Quebec This is a beautiful old church that my husband’s family have attended for a great number of years. Many of the graves and headstones are family members. This day, we laid his beloved Mother to rest. / November 2008

  • MARTYR by Rolf Knudsen. / This smiling chap will gladly die for his cause. He has grenades strapped to his head and a star over his nose that signifies religion.Ironically his earrings are symbols of peace. He has bullet belts and an octopus aims a double barrelled shot gun at the enemy(us?)simultaneously pushing a plunger in to detonate himself. The fish skeleton symbolises mortality and questions the existence of the divine. In this day and age of suicide bombers the martyr is an all too familiar reality.21×29cm.Ink on paper.Framed $400.

  • My friends mom is busy dying as we speak. / She was diagnosed with cancer a few weeks ago and has deteriorated so quickly that it is really hard to believe. / I love her very much and it hurts to see her withering away and feeling helpless in the process. / She is old and has lived a wonderful life, but that makes no difference. / This made me think about life and death and all of those loved ones who have come and gone before. I have been very fortunate not to have lost very many people in my life, but there are some who have lost many. / One knows the pain of loss will be there, but never ever wants to see someone else suffering, so one starts praying that they will be taken quickly and painlessly. A reminder to treasure life and those we love.
