this is some old shack in the mountains, near my home. when i saw it I immediately thought of a horror scene in movie or a deathmetal artwork. i get twisted sometimes.

I took this shot in Strathalbyn recently after I had finished a job up there. I found it an interesting contrast to the blue sky. It is in the Strathalbyn Town Centre near the river. It is number 1 in my collection of pictures of Strathalbyn’s Dead Trees.
This monument erected by the state of Maine in memory of Union soldiers from the state who were captives at the Salisbury Prison stands guard in the Salisbury National Cemetery (Salisbury, NC). The open ground behind the monument and to its right is where 18 trenches were dug to bury approximately 11,000 Union prisoners who died at the Salisbury Prison during the prison’s operation (1861-1865). The majority of these deaths occurred during 1864.

Child grave marker and marble sculpture from the mid 19th century
I found this headstone at a cemetery near my aunt and uncle’s house in Ashburnham, MA. Most of the headstones were dated from the 1800’s or earlier – this one belonging to a young boy named Little Eddie.
