A massive storm gets ready to unleash its awesome power over an outback road in Western Australia.
Lake Dumbleyoung in Western Australia. Holding the land speed record, Donald Campbell then broke another speed record over the surface of this inland lake. He was the fastest man on land and water but the lake later took his life.

Death Valley Sand Dunes @ Stove Pipe Wells. I was trying to find an “alternative” view to a scene that has been photographed thousands of times. The image was shot in infrared and a gradient was added to the sky to give some separation.
The Race Track in Death Valley. This is a place you have to experience in person.
Every now and then I like to “step outside” my boundary of usual subject matter and do something really different. This is one of those images. Captured outside the town of Central City, Colorado, I happened by this scene by luck, along with the other 2 cemeteries close by it. Long closed, these are the real deal “wild west’ cemeteries, long forgotten, long not seen. Looking like a scene out of the movie “Pale Rider”.....I had to photograph it. The ruts in the ground were still visible from where the old wagons used to carry the bodies up from the town. Quite an amazing place…. / Thoughts welcomed! —-John —-—-—-—-—-—-— / More of my work can be seen on my website at http://jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. “everything is mostly vast amounts of space between itself my love…...” Gallo, you told me that… and everything came clear… so clear… and even more complex now…. and then, “fluid dynamics”, you said… among all the significant words on that message, those two words brought my childhood back and my obsession for the infinite micro/macro… and you brought light into it. / You are the greatest inspiration for my creations, but this one, derived from that dream, is more than inspiration, it is a deep communion and I dedicate it to you, my soul mate. / / / i am so honored to have been featured in the EMI Magazine! Mark, that was a rabbit punch! thank you and to the EMI great crew!!! / i am thrilled to have this piece featured in Abstract Realism. this one is deeply special to me. / thank you!
Death Valley California Dune. / Canon Elan 7 camera and Provia 100 film. / I enjoy capturing the details that make Death Valley interesting. Here, I used a telephoto’s perspective to isolate the curves of a dune.

Death Valley wants to kill you…. seriously. I felt it try as I hiked out for 45 minutes deep into the sand dunes with a full canteen of water. Within an hour the canteen was dry and my lips were starting to chap and my throat was sore and dry. The other thing is… when you hike out for 45 minutes… the hike back (in the dark) is also a minimum of that same time. Like I stated… Death Valley wants to kill you…

Death Valley National Park, USA / / The Ubehebe Crater system contains several volcanic craters, cinder cones and ash hills, all resulting from an explosive steam eruption approx. 2,000 years ago, when rising magma met an underground lake. Ubehebe is by far the largest crater, 2,400 feet in diameter and 500 feet deep and presents a very colorful spectacle with variegated, buckled strata around its sides and grey-black ash on the rim. A slippery climb with an awesome view !
Zabriskie Point is a section of Death Valley National Park (in the United States) noted for its erosional landscape. The terrain is referred to as badlands because it is very difficult to grow plants there. It is composed of sediments from Furnace Creek Lake, which dried up 5 million years ago — long before Death Valley came into existence.
