There is a moment between life and death, that moment is a spark of light. This moment made me understand that. I was alone in a desert, with ten litres of water and the trust in another person who promised to pick me up. At that moment anything was possible.
I thought I’d found a reason to live / Just like before when I was a child / Only to find that dreams made of sand / Would just fall apart and slip through my hands / But the spirit of life keeps us strong / And the spirit of life is the will to carry on / Adversity what have I done to you / To cause this reclusive silence / That has come between me and you / And the spirit of life oh-ho remains in light / And the spirit of life oh-ho remains inside / I never thought it would be quite like this / Living outside of mutual bliss / But as long as the veins in our arms still stand up / The spirit of life will keep living on / ‘dead can dance’
Another shot from my cemetery series. This shot really caught my eye, man lays asleep waiting for the resurrection and nature lays dormant waiting for that breath of new life come spring. The orange of the leaves is a promise and a sign of hope that this is not the end of life but only the beginning. / / More in this cemetery series: / / / / / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / / /

Portraits of Hope
The Angel of the North probably one of the most photographed works of public art in the north of England if not the country as a whole. I felt it required a fresh view and as Easter was fast approaching and the word Angel being Hebrew for messenger I thought an artistic take would be to re-create the crucifixion scene for a modern day audience. This is three images combined to make this scene.

I was so moved while making this piece that I began to cry as my heart and mind thought of everything that He went through and still pressed on just for you and me.
Dealing With Loss – Grief /
i have been trying to work on more postive paintings …..but it seems the more postive I go the wose I feel…..kinda like someone rubbing your face in their happiness when you are feeling down …. so sometimes getting that little bit of crazy out makes me feel a whole lot better….

I wanted to do an image that symbolizes the Victorian bushfires that started on Saturday the 7th of February 2009, but I didn’t want this image to be sad (although we all know how devastating it has been), I wanted this image to be about the loss, the lives saved, how Australians came together and the growth to come. The Bird symbolizes all the lives that were saved, but this bird has no nest, so it also symbolizes all the homes that were lost and the nothingness some of these people now feel. The Birds claw clinging onto the tree branch is there to symbolize the fire fighters thoughts of hanging in there, and putting all these fires out. The Heart is there to symbolize all the heart ache and love, which us Australians have felt and will never forget. The Flower is there to symbolize all the help, support, donations and everything that us Australians have given to those affected, just to let them know that they have got support, and us Aussies are all here to help. The Music symbols are there to symbolize (all the lives lost) all the spirits flying up into the sky. The Leafs symbolize the growth to come, with rebuilding these affected communities. And I did not want an actual image of a fire in my design, so the swirls of the bird’s tail are there to symbolize the raging fire that affected so many. I ended up donating $630 for the bush fire appeal, from 2 paintings i auctioned and a couple of T’s :o)
I took this with more light and at a good angle a liitle about this The meek shall inherit the earth .This line went through my mind as I painted, a line I have been force fed since I was a child. I have issues with religion and fogivenss. The fact one can look up to the heavens and say I was wrong please forgive me then poof it is done, seems all a bit too easy and delusional to me. I believe man has placed religion above spiritually for convenience and in turn made the innocent cower. I think in a just world that the sin/sinner should be placed in the hands of the innocent ...what they chose to do with them is the justice. The meek shall inherit the earth…I have since leaned that you can simply make someone’s life meek/powerless by not forgiving. Maybe that’s what they meant?
Watchmen movie is so close yet i still wanted to see the blue man on a shirt… Take a look at the Who is Watching? Take a look at the Many Faces of Rorschach Take a Look at Watching the Watchmen

© 2009 Danilo Lejardi / (Mira is a red giant star estimated 200-400 light years away.) I felt so moved when I first read Dead Suns and Dying Stars, the poem by artist Lianne that I couldn´t help but trying to create an image inspired by it. I know a single image cannot express nor the visceral universe of this poem, neither its infinite subtilities, but it´s just my way of trying to deal with my own feelings and to draw things out. / Thanks from the heart, dear Lianne, for feeding our souls with this outstanding inspiration! Here´s the poem by artist Lianne Schneider. Dead Suns and Dying Stars Empty stars devoid of light, / ashen suns devoid of heat / litter the universe frozen, lifeless, / all dead or dying in the cosmos / winking out like houses gone dark. / And I am Mira in her death throes / orbiting the dead, cold core of you / my binary companion, love star whose / nearness once radiated light to me / whose chemistry generated atomic reactions / in my heart and in my superheated core- / the heat of our fusion the physics / of our intimate and co-dependent galaxy. / When your intense desire had cooled / and your inner fuel of love was spent, / your cataclysmic collapse became the trigger / that sent me hurtling through the cosmos / throwing off the light and heat and color / of all I had become in a fiery comet tail / signifying my fall from your grace. / A thousand light years from now / my death will still be emblazoned on the sky / for love dies no more quickly than a star. © Lianne Schneider October 2009
