Every now and then I like to “step outside” my boundary of usual subject matter and do something really different. This is one of those images. Captured outside the town of Central City, Colorado, I happened by this scene by luck, along with the other 2 cemeteries close by it. Long closed, these are the real deal “wild west’ cemeteries, long forgotten, long not seen. Looking like a scene out of the movie “Pale Rider”.....I had to photograph it. The ruts in the ground were still visible from where the old wagons used to carry the bodies up from the town. This is the 3rd shot from today’s series of photos from the local grave yard.. I had heard recently that grave yards make a great subject for IR photography, and I personally think I have to agree as I believe that this is my best IR shot so far.. / The cross that you can see behind the headstone in the middle of the shot is the cross that I used as the subject for my So Dark The Con Of Man shot.. / Anyway let me know what you all think and i hope you like it all as much as i do.. Another shot from my cemetery series. This shot really caught my eye, man lays asleep waiting for the resurrection and nature lays dormant waiting for that breath of new life come spring. A dark Cemetary, a scantaly clad Gothic girl in a corset…What more could you want. Have you ever read the series DEAD WITCH WALKING by Kim Harrison? This image reminds me of her character Rachel Morgan. I had to take my son to the health visitor clinic today for his year old check up. After we were through there (receiving a glowing report that all is very well with his development) I decided to walk by the graveyard in front of the old C/E church in the village. I had, of course, brought my camera. And this is what I got for my little sojourn.
