  • The varying layers of cloud created wonderful variations in colour in this sunset. I was lucky enough to spot a dead tree on a nearby hill to create a great silhouette. Taken on Victorian side of Hume Weir out past Bellbridge.

  • The old red gums in silhouette at sunset. Lake Bonney, South Australia

  • Title selected from the subjects in my spam folder….... 5000+ / SPAM PHOTOS / REAL ESTATE SERIES / NEW ZEALAND / FROGS / LENSBABY / INFRARED / BEACH / INDUSTRIAL / PANORAMAS / LANDSCAPES

  • This still proud She Oak stands close to the shores of Swan Lake. It is a wonderful location and continues to change as the water rises. Yep it’s still raining here. / It’s so peaceful, I often find myself just sitting down ,forgetting about the camera and absorbing all that’s happening around me. What you can’t see are the many lake birds getting ready to bed down for the night.

  • This Is a collaboration I did with a friend of mine on deviantart. / Heres her page. http://intano.deviantart.com/ / Do not take.My work Is under copyright law

  • Three dead redgum trees standing silent together in Lake Bonney at Barmera in South Australia’s Riverland. Many thanks to Kathy T for sending me out to Pelican Point, an amazing place to see these majestic trees still standing against the elements. For great images see Kathy’s site.

  • Backwaters of the River Murray at Lyrup near sunset, late afternoon. Majestic old dead gums still standing out against the skyline. These flats are situated near Lyrup in the Riverland area of South Australia between Berri and Renmark. A great place for sunrise or sunset. Three shot stitch in Photoshop CS3. Canon 400D 18-55 lens with Polarising filter.

  • Lyrup Flats – Backwater area of the mighty River Murray between Berri and Renmark in the Riverland of South Australia. A log jam divides water laying in small pools in amongst dead river redgum trees. Canon 400D 18-55 lens with CIR Polarising filter. Two shot pano stitch in Photoshop CS3.

  • Near Devil’s Punchbowl, Oregon. Canon 450D XTi + several Neutral and Graduated Neutral Density filters (created the purple sky). Very slightly edited :) -Matthew Tauzer

  • Early morning three shot panorama – Noora Basin, between Berri and Renmark in the Riverland of South Australia. This backwater is an evaporation basin off of the River Murray. The main river itself looks nothing like this and still holds plenty of water to make a visit to the region well worth while. Nothing better – 6.30 am, first hint of sun, great clouds, colours and magnificent dead redgum trees standing silent. Who could want for more!!!!!!!! Canon 400D – 18 -55 lens, CIR polarising filter coupled with ND4. Tripod mounted three shot pano stitched in photoshop CS3.

  • Well at least it would be if I had my way, living in Glenmaggie and just spending the majority of my time photographing its beauty. But anyway, yes it was shot at Lake Glenmaggie, Victoria. Shot with a Nikon D200, 12-24mm lens at 15mm, F/11, 100 ISO. 4 shot HDR, merged/mapped in Photomatix, touched up in Photoshop. BEST VIEWED LARGER Also from this shoot: Please also see Lawrence Norton’s beautiful work from the same shoot:

  • Many thanks for viewing.

  • Backwater reflections again from one of my favourite spots, located between Berri and Renmark at the Noora evaporation area. Tall majestic dead Redgums stand defiant against the morning glows. Canon 400D – 17-85 lens.

  • Fish Creek Park, Calgary, Alberta, Canada

  • Heritage Park, Calgary, Alberta, Canada

  • Lake Moogerah Late Afternoon at the dead tree Cove

  • The iconic Liathach rises above Loch Clair, on a beautiful Winter’s day. / Not a perfect reflection, but still a wonderful scene. The dead tree has stood there for as long as I remember, in just the right place for a great composition. / Liathach is one of the Torridon Hills, in the North West of Scotland. Shot on my Canon EOS 40D, tripod, polariser, f19, 1/20sec, iso 100, auto wb, single RAW file pseudo HDR in Photomatix, tweaked in PS CS3, and a final layer of Orton, reducing the opacity, to make the colours ‘pop’.
