Walking down to the beach. It was a cool bleak day. These footprints caught my eye. The volcanic sand had flecks of purple in it which sparkled!. Quite a memorable experience
This is another beautiful site that I see while going throught the door at work. / Please feel free to offer any critique…as I am contemplating entering this in a / competition that is starting soon.

First morning at Havasu Falls. This was one of our most memorable backpacking trip in the Grand Canyon, USA.
WILD ORCHID / “The flower that walks”, the Indian; said, / And walking spreads its crown-like roots / Through forest glades and upland dales. / Moccasin flower or Lady’s Slipper, / It matters not the name / Or if it be fair white or rose or tiny yellow kind / Tis ever rare and wondrous there / This woodland beauty Bequeathed us from another age. / A Heritage to guard with care / And cherish for posterity / That other eyes in future years / Mav see this Orchid walk the trails / As did our native Indian braves / And shy eyed maidens of the tribe. / -HELEN M. I photographed this majestic blue heron in Point Lobos State Reserve in CA. It is fascinating to watch this bird standing on a floating log, for hours, waiting for the right moment to catch a passing fish. —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- I will donate 50% of all proceeds from the sale of this image and the ones below to the American Bird Conservancy Consider these images as companions! / And the T-Shirt below

African Brown Lion. We found this guy lazing within this shrub. Just behind him to the left is one of the lioness in his pride. We were fortunate enough to witness mating between the two. This photo was taken just after they mated. King Leo looks very content with life, and being at the top of the food chain! The Brown Lion is threatened by extinction, due mainly to local poachers. There are several organisations in place to help prevent this from happening. Such a majestic animal should be around for as long as we can hope. As you probably have guessed by now I love my chinese lanterns and they never seem to give up! I took this one looking down and loved the lacey effect of the fading and decaying outer shell to see the lovely bright orange seed. The simple strength of this sight literally stopped me in my tracks at Southbank on the weekend. The sun was on the horizon, but the variance of light playing on the clouds caught my eye. As I reached for my camera, I realised the true beauty lay in framing the clouds vertically, in the context of the strong architecture above and to both sides of where I stood. So yes, it’s an urban ‘scape in every sense, but by composing this shot in the totality of the towering silhouettes, the triangles and the rectangles, I framed Nature in the context of manmade structures. I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F8, 1/500 sec, ISO 200, focal length 125mm. 119-0921
