A Photograph of my youngest daughter. One of our boring days that led to some creative things. My other daughter Kaila’ did her makeup

Someone (not from RB) remarked that they didn’t like the way I photographed my children in such dark tones and they felt children should be photographed in colour – they felt it captured childhood better – maybe they have a point – but I photograph this way to try and capture either a timelessness or the spirit of the moment – anyway, I haven’t listen and i have made an earlier image even darker – just did a bit of dodging and burning.

For me summer holiday memories are all about bare feet, the sea, the smell of aerogard and barbeques, and long days and warm nights often spent in a caravan park by the ocean. This piece is about all of that, but I also wanted to infuse it with a bit of darkness and mystery …Holiday villages are so full of life and colourful characters by day, but at night when all have gone to bed and secured their temporary little homes, they can be quite strange and creepy…

SP The Gift She swims through consciousness, dimly aware of the morning light / as the day filters through the blur of her half opened eyelids / Resting her forearm across her brow / she stares up at the blue ceiling above her bed / until the foggy mist from her dream filled sleep finally starts to clear / Her mind awakens like a well oiled clock / cogs turning slowly at first / then with a little fine micromechanical early morning tuning / her pendulum begins to sway rhythmically in time with the day / Thoughts of things to come and yesterday are again set in motion Appointments filter through / and then there’s the parcel she needs to send / Must wrap it up in brown paper, tied with string / remembering to slip in the handwritten note she promised him / penned in scrolls and Indian ink / Rolling on her side, curling her knees up to her chest / she stares unseeing at the wall / She’ll spray his surprise with her favourite perfume / reminding him of her scent / and smiling, she visualises him opening her carefully prepared gift She see’s him untie the string / even hears the paper crackling as he lifts back the folds / slowly reaching in to finger the fabric / she watches in her mind as he lifts lace from soft, white tissue paper / and his utter surprise that she has fulfilled her promise / Smiling to herself she closes her eyes / snuggling deliciously deeper under the covers / wrapping her arms around her knees / while savouring the misty sweet daydream / Tender thoughts of love, hope and desire all tied up in string TMac

Sally Omar / got inspired by This work and wrote this Poem to go with this Image , Thank you sally / —-—-—-—-- / VIRGIN Her smile like a moonbeam / Eyes like a violet dream / Skin so soft and like milk / Covering her hair with silk / Lips full and ever so red / Words of love never said / Breasts untouched by any hand / Never looked upon by any man / A heart so warm beyond compare / Yet no man has never been near / Her legs so long as she walks / Words so eloquent as she talks / Keeping herself ever so pure / Asking for nothing..wanting more / A woman yet a child / Her temperament so very mild / One day a true love will come along / Sing her a beautiful song / She will give her love so freely / And a VIRGIN she will no longer be.

yes… azure mean blue (french i think) but the image is black. / oh i dont make sense with what i do! BUT dont you think it makes a pretty name? / oh well.. i do at least. this is just a random drawing. / this character is usually drawn as a stick-figure/scribble but i decided to try and make her look more like a human (lol?) enjoy!!
