  • Title: Bored / Camera: D80 / Capture Date: 08/07/2007 / Dimensions: 3872×3135 / Exposure: 1/4 sec at f/45.6 / Focal Length: 195mm / ISO: 500 / Filter: None / Flash: None / Tripod: None / Uploaded Date: 08/07/2007 / Comments: White tiger at the aquarium in Houston. This is why I do not like seeing animals in zoos or cages. Wouldn’t you be bored if you were a jungle animal and you were put in a cage like this? They are beautiful, but I would prefer they were free. © 2007 Charles Dobbs Photography. All photographs and artworks in this portfolio are copyrighted and owned by the artist, Charles Dobbs. • Someone (not from RB) remarked that they didn’t like the way I photographed my children in such dark tones and they felt children should be photographed in colour – they felt it captured childhood better – maybe they have a point – but I photograph this way to try and capture either a timelessness or the spirit of the moment – anyway, I haven’t listen and i have made an earlier image even darker – just did a bit of dodging and burning.

  • I Am I am calling to you from afar; / Calling to you since the very beginning of days. / Calling to you across millennia, / For aeons of time- / Calling-calling. Since always. It is part of your being, my voice, / But it comes to you faintly and you only hear it sometimes; / “I don’t know,” you may say. / But somewhere you know. / “I can’t hear,” you say, “what is it and where?” / But somewhere you hear, and deep down you know. / For I am that in you which has been always; / I am that in you which will never end. Even if you say, “Who is calling?” / Even if you think, “Who is that?” / Where will you run? Just tell me. / Can you run away from yourself? For I am the Only One for you; / There is no other, / Your Promise, your Reward am I alone- / Your Punishment, your longing / And your Goal. / -Anonymous Image copyright © 2009 Shanina Conway. / Copying and displaying or redistribution of this image without permission from the artist is strictly prohibited

  • My Website SP The Gift She swims through consciousness, dimly aware of the morning light / as the day filters through the blur of her half opened eyelids / Resting her forearm across her brow / she stares up at the blue ceiling above her bed / until the foggy mist from her dream filled sleep finally starts to clear / Her mind awakens like a well oiled clock / cogs turning slowly at first / then with a little fine micromechanical early morning tuning / her pendulum begins to sway rhythmically in time with the day / Thoughts of things to come and yesterday are again set in motion Appointments filter through / and then there’s the parcel she needs to send / Must wrap it up in brown paper, tied with string / remembering to slip in the handwritten note she promised him / penned in scrolls and Indian ink / Rolling on her side, curling her knees up to her chest / she stares unseeing at the wall / She’ll spray his surprise with her favourite perfume / reminding him of her scent / and smiling, she visualises him opening her carefully prepared gift She see’s him untie the string / even hears the paper crackling as he lifts back the folds / slowly reaching in to finger the fabric / she watches in her mind as he lifts lace from soft, white tissue paper / and his utter surprise that she has fulfilled her promise / Smiling to herself she closes her eyes / snuggling deliciously deeper under the covers / wrapping her arms around her knees / while savouring the misty sweet daydream / Tender thoughts of love, hope and desire all tied up in string TMac

  • / CLICK THIS IMAGE TO READ MORE ABOUT IT! What you see here is the first of seven works of art to be posted over the next seven days – the results of a seven day smackdown between myself, and the fabulous Angi Sullins and Silas Toball – where Angi made a traditional collage, and then gave it to Silas and I, letting us loose on it with our photoshop skills. :) Here is a link to their page: / Here is Silas’ version: / And here is Angi’s original art collage that we worked from: /

  • A wander through the daydream journeys of Aimee Stewart If you wish to see the individual pages better, click on the following links: January – Our Secret Harbor February – In a Maasai Dream March – Safari April – Magic Grotto May – Man in the Moon June – In Quiet Light July – The Low Plain August – Secret Parade September – Treasure Hunt October – Her Menagerie November – Caravanserai December – Parley Cove Many of the works in this calendar are either being seen for the first time here, or this is the first time they are being released as prints in any format. I truly wanted to be able to take a daydream journey at a glance with these, and be transported from the daily routine. I think that is pretty much my goal all the time! ;) I am delighted to think there are others out there like me who will recognize a part of their wayfaring heart on these pages.
