My husband and I set out for the rice fields to witness the beginning of the end, sunrise on the last day of 2007. Sunrise was right after 7 a.m.on this New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2007. It’s been a blessed year for us and we are deeply grateful to our Lord for his bountiful provisions, especially for family and friends and for the beauty of creation. May 2008 be great for the family of Earth.

On the calm stillness of early morning twilight, just before sunrise, you can get the clearest sense of beauty just by listening to the silence. It is punctuated now and then by a waking creature or a sound of civilization coming back to life to begin a new day.
