This picture was taken on the hill of Slane, Co Meath. It is said that in the Fifth century A.D. Saint Patrick came to the Hill of Slane early in his attempt to convert pagan Ireland to the light of christianity. On the eve of the Christian feast of Easter, 433 A.D. which appropriately coincides with the pagan feast of Beltane and the spring equinox, St. Patrick lit a bonfire upon the Hill of Slane. The law in force at the time was no fire should lit in the in the vicinity when a great festival fire blazed at the Royal seat of power on the visibly nearby Hill of Tara. I am an amateur photographer, I have been “snapping” 9 months.

Barack Obama is Irish!
A little bit early but Paddy’s Day is also my Lil sis’s birthday – and I am ashamed to say I forgot last year until the day itself – in which I turned out the original Paddy’s reel and another few similar pieces to the fractal elements of this piece, Paddys day is very religious back home – at least it used to be… Mass followed by The Stephens Green/O’Connell Street Parade and then off to the pub to get Religiously Hammered. The blessing normally came at around 11.30 Pm to the shout of Right, Time Now Please… Ladies,, Gents… Then it was straight off to Limbo…. Normally the club on Leopardstown Races as one could get anihilated there and crash on the racecourse!!! Ireland – no Place quite like home Happy St. Patricks Day all You Paddys and ex-Pats…. Bleering Ryht!!! And a little knees up from the I believe the Original Writers (The Dubliners) of Whiskey in The Jar ... If you ever heard Ronnie and Co playing some of those little Bars like Lacy’s on the Keys – believe me these were the best knees ups ever… Lizzy were second best when it comes to this one… Have a listen to this Version – The Electricity is magic and Vicar Street is a wonderful little haunt in which I have seen the likes of The Stunning play in the past!!! yee-haaa!!! Ultrafractal and Photoshop - This little piece has 3…. as a significant number… and the discs are representative of Magic Coins found in The Leprechauns secret Horde under a fractal tree at the end of the rainbow!

I hope this Christmas found…
I hope this Christmas found you and left you with much joy along with the excitement of a New Year! / A special “Thanks” to each an every one of you who purchased my artwork and apparel for Christmas gifts for your loved ones this year! Thank you to all who purchased my “New Years” greeting cards and I trust everyone had a safe and exciting New Years! There was much for me to be happy for this year as it was my first year back in California and I was able to celebrate with family that I haven’t been able to with in a while. The weather alone was a Christmas gift for me; it was clear and 75 degrees, a Holiday paradise! While it wasn’t a White Christmas it was indeed a Bright Christmas, (literally…I needed sunglasses!) I simply love everything about Christmas. Decorating the tree, the incredible smells, like pine, cinnamon and clove and baked goods. I also adore creating special presents for friends and family and wrapping them up to look irresistible. This is something I share in common with my Grandpa I recently found out, we both go nuts and all out for all Holidays. Give either of us any excuse to celebrate, enjoy seasonal food and decorations and we are all over it! I always make sure to wear green on St. Patrick’s Day, carve a pumpkin on Halloween and decorate eggs on Easter…and it doesn’t end there mind you! There is just something so wonderful about getting into the spirit of the season, especially if you are a creator. This new year was just as happy for me. I spent it at home curled up in a blanket watching movies, and made it to the countdown by watching Kill Bill Vol.’s 1. And 2., with homemade popcorn. Aaaah, and that is always a recipe for happiness for this girl. There’s something about a countdown that makes my heart leap. Unfortunately that also happens to me on those late night television sales pitches, there’s just nothing like a ticking down clock to create intensity, luckily, I am aware of this, and can avoid them as to prevent irrational purchasing of useless items! Oh, but on New Years to be counting along with so many others at the same time always brings more than a touch of nostalgia to my heart. Connecting with others is something that will probably always get to me, like the way RedBubble brings so many of us together from so many parts of the world, it’s a beautiful and wonderful thing! / Now that this New Year has arrived with much joy and anticipation from me, it is now time for something new. It’s time for me to clean up and put away all of my Holiday Festivities and move forward into this new year with a clean slate, chalk full of new ideas and creations. Happy Creating To All This 2010! / CarrieGlennStudios.Com / My Zazzle Gallery
May flowers always line your path and sunshine light your day. May songbirds serenade you every step along the way. May a rainbow run beside you in a sky that’s always blue. And may happiness fill your heart each day your whole life through. (Irish Blessing)
