As I was on a nature walk, I saw all of these little leaves and they all looked like little hearts, so I collected some and shot them all over the gravel path I was walking on. Then all of the sticks seamed to curve and look like hearts too! I arranged the sticks and leaves and smiled as it was a beautiful heart against the rocks. Could it be that it was days before Valentines Day that my heart and mind were so inspired? Perhaps… / Well then the “Natural Love” card was born. (Of course I was also listening to French love songs while I was creating it..:) / I believe they are perfect for any occasion you want to express love…. This Rose Bud waiting to open up for the world to see, was in the garden at the Swan Inn, at the back of Dawlish. / It had a leaf directly above it, like a roof protecting it from the rain, but also shadowing the poor thing. as with my other image when solitude is required… this image was taken near a house i used to live in… / this place way my favorite place to be alone i used to find myself wandering through the bush and way down at the bottom of the hill im the middle of victorian native bushland there stood an old pine tree that didnt quite fit… as it turned out this tree became quite known to me i used to find myself here often… / it was / “my place” / somewhere to be alone and just simply be…. featured in Sepia Only / top ten place in sepia-portraits challenge

Best Viewed Larger This lovely old cabin is one of the first structures visitors see when they arrive at Old Bedford Village, a Living History Museum, in Bedford, PA. Many of the structures here are original to the general area. When their useful lives were over they were torn down and reconstructed on the site. Others are reproductions, meticulously crafted to represent their original counterparts. Image taken on October 17, 2009 with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens, uv and cp filters attached. Shutter 1/320, aperture f/9.0, exp -.33, iso 250. Post processing included some work in levels and a hint of warm filter in Photoshop.
