This fantastic image was also taken from my home in Tucson, Arizona.
The suns rays filtered by trees and glowing in the mist.
Rain clouds at sunset in the Arizona desert.
Dawn at Garie Beach, Royal National Park just south of Sydney, Australia. A seagull very obligingly flew into shot as I was taking this. Can you spot the silhouetted fishermen? / I’m lucky enough to live in one of the most beautiful landscapes I’ve ever seen – it’s only a little national park (14,000 ha) but the variety of stuff to photograph is simply endlessly inspiring. Canon 30D / Tv: 1/125 / Av: f/32 / ISO: 100 / FL: 70mm then cropped Taken on the same magic morning as Light’s Flight: / /

Top Featured Piece Of The Day in the Live, Love, Dream group, 12th Nov, 2008. / Featured in the Rivers, Lakes and Dams group, 12th Nov, 2008. Early one January morning, I got out of bed before dawn and headed in to London and the Thames. I knew where I wanted to get the shot from. I set up the tripod and camera and waited. I hoped the sun would be visible, but had nothing more to base the possibility on other than the sky had been red at sunset the night before. My luck was in!

Took this a couple of weeks ago…was a really pretty sunrise to watch….
Caught ‘up the sware’ (a local viewpoint) at dawn yesterday ( 23/9/08) as the sun rose over the tweed valley just outside Peebles, scottish borders. An especially heartwarming sight after the wet grey summer we’ve had … and it’s straight from my Nikon 4800 coolpix compact camera, untouched. ;))) See also mist in the valley taken at the same time ! and also front row seat cheers all / ding / :))
Surfing just before dawn. The water color comes from the dawn light reflecting off high clouds in the sky. Canon 1Ds Mark II / 600 mm focal length / 1/15 second / f/4 / ISO 50 Panning and trying to keep the surfer in one spot in the frame produces the fluidity and quality to the water.
A group of ducks fly by in the dawn and captured with a panned slow shutter speed exposure near the breakwater of Santa Barbara, California. Canon 1Ds Mark II / 600 mm focal length / 1/10 second / f/8
The glory and the splendor of ‘the start of the day’ at Jan Juc beach on the Surfcoast, part of The Great Ocean Road. Camera: Pentax istDS.
The colours of daybreak are reflected on the waters of Thompson’s Creek, as it enters the waters of Bass Strait at Point Impossible, near Torquay, on the Surfcoast of Victoria. Pentax istDS Camera.
Oshie, a rescue dog, checks out the beach during a beautiful sunrise on the beach in Port Orford, Oregon. Oshie is a shepherd mix who loves to run on the beach… and roll in unidentifiable dead things that she finds. She somehow became unwanted by her former owner when she was only about a year old. Yet she is such a wonderful dog! Nikon D200 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5 zoom lens at 18mm. 1/60th, f/4.0, ISO250 Added to the RedBubble Featured Gallery 08-Feb-2009

Taken on the first morning of a long dreamt of trip…in Puerto Morelos near Cancun in Mexico… waiting for the sun to rise…. Enjoy… ;)) Nikon compact coolpix 4800 / f/2.7 / 1/80sec / ISO-50
Before the dawn, Noora Evaporation basin near Renmark South Australia. Just before the sun with a brooding blue stormy cloud line silhouetting the majestic old dead river redgum trees that line the basin. As most of you know this is one of my favorite spots to sit and watch the sun come up! Canon 400D – 18-55 lens with CIR Polariser topped with ND4.
The Anchor Holds. * A song of encouragement and hope for those going through the storms of life. Inspired by a real life experience. / By Lawrence Chewning and Ray Boltz THE ANCHOR HOLDS I have journeyed / Through the long, dark night / Out on the open sea / By faith alone / Sight unknown / And yet His eyes were watching me CHORUS: / The anchor holds / Though the ship is battered / The anchor holds / Though the sails are torn / I have fallen on my knees / As I faced the raging seas / The anchor holds / In spite of the storm Ive had visions / Ive had dreams / Ive even held them in my hand / But I never knew / They would slip right through / Like they were only grains of sand CHORUS I have been young / But I am older now / And there has been beauty / That these eyes have seen / But it was in the night / Through the storms of my life / Oh, that’s where God proved / His love to me CHORUS (repeat) / 1994 Word MusicASCAP (a div. of Word, Inc.) and Shepherd Boy MusicASCAP (adm. by Word, Inc.). Early morning just as the sun starts to rise – Lyrup backwaters near the Noora evaporation basin in the Riverland of South Australia. This is a backwater lined with majestic old river red gums but is not indicative of the main river. Still plenty to do and see on the river itself and well worth a trip. Canon 400D 18 – 55 with Polarising filter. Three shot panoramic stitched in Photoshop CS3.
